Liberals have always confused me. The other day I saw a car that had bumper stickers ALL over it! Not just on the bumper! Most were anti-Bush but there were stickers for all kinds of causes that were not considered conservative. I have noticed things like that more and more. Do these people just like to argue and get noticed?

I agree with most of what everyone has said. It is a two way street. I did not mean to say that ALL liberals are overzealous, I've just noted a trend. I also did not mean to say that liberals are anti-american. I cherish the fact that we can say whatever we want about the government, praise or criticism. I would add though that anyone who is anti-american should try living in another country for a time...they would have a rude awakening. Hopefully they'd like it and they would leave the rest of us to be proud of where we are from.
As for those who speak out for every cause they can find...I think they should use their passion and power to put to better uses.

As a liberaltarian I can agree with what you state in your question. We seem to stick our noses in other peoples business alot.
We do so because we feel we have to fight for the everyman. THose people who can't speak for themselves or don't know how. We fight so every person can do anything they want, as long as no one else is affected by it.
We hate on George Bush cause he feels he can do as he wishes and no one can stop him. Who cares if someone has to lose some of their rights. Or a few innocent people have to lose their lives.
One life is priceless. The rights we have are priceless.
And liberals will keep sticking their noses in as long as someone is trying to refrain on someones rights.
Of coarse liberals would run the world poor. But we would all have free healthcare!

Liberals do tend to have more bumper stickers. Go figure. It's clear they want their opinion heard... that's kinda the point of most bumper stickers - making the guy behind you deal with your opinions. It's not like conservatives don't have them as well, though. They'd have a lot more if the current president was a Democrat and (I say this as a Bush supporter in 2000) as partisan, incompetent, and secretive as Bush.
Why do some people equate conservatism with being pro-American, and then of course, liberalism with being anti-American? Sometimes opposing the government is as American as it gets, while supporting the government and our leaders blindly goes against the founding principles of this nation. So who is anti-American? Both sides get it wrong from time to time.
Regardless, conservatives around here don't seem to have too many problems keeping their paint-jobs or tires in good condition.
It's funny how vile the hatred is that some conservatives, often "Christians", display towards liberals. People on both sides have strong opinions, but there is no need for raw, burning hatred. That's not American, it's not Christian, and it certainly isn't good for our country.

Conservatives are just as bad at putting pro-Bush stickers on their cars. It also needs to be pointed out that almost all of the world has noticed conservatives more than they would like. The war in Iraq is bringing a lot of attention to them. So is their constant rhetoric about what it takes to be a "real" American.

Some liberals (an over and misused word), may be looking for attention. More likely though they are simply frustrated over policies pursued by their elected leaders which are at odds with their deeply held beliefs. By the way, its not just liberals who want the attention....haven't you ever seen a "you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers", or "these colors don't run" bumper sticker?
This is a definitely a two way street.

well... first off, some people in every group crave attention and act out to do so...
but, moving on beyond the obvious... it seems that liberals often confuse conservatives and I don't know why... it's really very simple...
we're a very inclusive group, so we're made up of many types of people... that's probably the major confusing point... you see one person saying one thing, another saying another... maybe be two conflicting things... but they can both still be liberal overall...
most seem to be simply working toward the general betterment of mankind with everyone working and giving toward that goal...
conservatives never have seemed to really "get it"... and they seem to always see the extremists and classify everyone as extremists... which of course is silly...
EDIT: the responses clearly show just how little conservatives really do understand liberalism

Did you see the question the other night from the neo-con who had "Support the troops" ribbons all over his car and then stated that "liberals" gave him dirty looks? He never did explain how he identified the so-called liberals. But I'm quite sure he had them on his car for the self-aggrandizing attention. So lots of people put stickers all over their cars. Is that something to whine about?

I am a Liberal for many, many reasons--most of which have to do with using my head for something other than a hatrack, and my sense of morality, and an ability to empathize, sympathize and tolerate. When I want "attention" I wear short skirts! (LOL)
BTW--I hate bumper stickers for the most part!

Actually, I'm a liberal and I take care to not disclose my political view points, as I live and work in a predominantly conservative area.
My view points come from a desire for justice and equality.

Yes, and they insult anyone showing support of the troops to get attention as well. What sad people.
