Hi, everyone below is wrong and right. Tildes belong to a larger group of Punctuation marks called ACROSTICS. These are marks used to modify letters to change either meaning (semantics) or sound (phonetics). Depending on the keyboard language they will be placed in different keys and by presssing different key combinations. However there is one standard way that you can use no matter what keyboard you have and what language keyboard it is. This standard way is by using the number lock pad on the right of the keyboard. There you can find all type if acrostics in any language always using the same satndard key combination. Next I will list the standar combinations for all acrostics that exist in every occidental language:

Type International and Special Characters using the right key or the following special modifier keys. Press and hold the key while typing the numbers shown to make the special characters:

Tilde is Apsnish for any written accent, like the one on é, á, í, etc. as well as ñ. The easiest way to write the last one is to hold down the ALT key while typing 164 on the number keypad, then release ALT. Then you get ñ

It's tilde and it's found on the upper left of your keyboard, below the Escape key and to the left of 1.
