You need to go for something really heavy duty- there are a few toys that come to mind.
One, as people have already mentioned, is the Kong. For a Pitt, I'd go straight for a black Kong, as they are much tougher than the red ones.
Other toys I would highly recommend are the Zogoflex toys. Something else to consider are AussieDog balls. Zogoflex and AussieDog both make incredibly durable products- AussieDog even has one guaranteed specifically for Staffies. (And they were 'road tested' by the lions at Melbourne Zoo!!)
Personal experience- I have an 18 month old Mastiff/Lab/Staffy mutt who loves chew toys. She destroyed a red XL Kong within minutes of being given it, and also destroyed a black XL Kong fairly quickly. I got her a Zogoflex 'Hurley' when she was 7 months old- she chews it almost constantly and it still hasn't even got so much as a toothmark in it!

Believe you me, the Kongs do not last. My 8 month APBT chewed his up 3 months ago. APBT tear toys up and I think my puppy chews on toys with that intention. I have gotten to the point where if he tears it up in a few days, we return the toys. We have only been able to find one toy that he has not torn up, it came from a local Pet Store. It is this massive heavy bone about the size of your upper arm. It's shaped like an actual bone with condyles on it and everything. He has had this for 3 months now and hasn't been able to put a dent in it.

I have an english staffy who loves to chew and I havent found anything she cant rip to pieces. I did find that a thick piece of rope (and I mean thick) will keep them going for longer then any other rubber or plastic toy on the market. I just went down to the local hardware and bought the thickest rope they had. She loves playing tug-O-war to so it was great she still hass some of it left and I bought it months ago

Do you have Kong pet toys where you are? They are heavy duty dog toys that are really resistant to dogs chewing them. They have hollow centers so you can put dog treats in them for the dog to work to get. Barring that some heavy duty natural fiber ropes will let him chew at least for a short time before coming apart. Just make sure to firmly knot both ends. That will stop it fraying and make it last that bit longer, as well as giving him bigger things to chew.

The best toy we had for my 2 year old Pitt was the bumble bee. it still got torn up but it lasted about half a year.
You might be able to find at pet clinics.

I would agree with everyone who said a Kong and add those rubber chew toys made from tires (they are shaped by tires). We have a dog who chewed through EVERYTHING else ...

The Almost Indestructible Ball - My dogs have one of these things and I am seriously impressed. If you have a hard chewer or your dog destroys normal balls, this is the ball for them.
It's quite big. They will drive themselves crazy trying to get it into their mouth. But it will wear them out and last a very long time. :o)

Good Luck

Look for the ones made out of that Firehose type material. You also might want to upgrade to the Black Kongs.
