if the crank sensor is bad you will have no spark. they are very common on 4.0's. therer are alot of other things that could casue you to lose spark, too. you should check it for codes before replacing parts.

yep the crank sensor tells the computer where it is in the stroke. If it is bad. The motor will crank really hard and firing of the plugs will be off as well.

maybe but it could also be a number of other things, take it to a mechanic and get them to run a diagnostic test on it.
