some say no, some christians and some Mormons. But experts say yes, and even Mormon leadership:
Elder Bernard P. Brockbank of the first Quorum of Seventy:
"It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshiped by the Mormons or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For example from the Church of England’s Articles of Religion, article one, I quote: ‘There is but one living God, everlasting, without body, parts, or passions.’ We cannot obtain salvation and eternal life by worshiping fake christs…. The belief that God has no body parts, and passions is not a doctrine of Jesus Christ or a doctrine of the holy scriptures but is a doctrine of men, and to worship such a God is in vain" ("The Living Christ," Ensign, May, 1977, pp. 26–7).

And more recently:
"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.'" (LDS Church News, week ending June 20, 1998, p.7)
Mormon theologian Bruce R.McConkie accuses Christians of Prostrating and abasing "themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ" (Mormon Doctrine, pg.269).

Yes. They do not believe in Biblical Jesus. The same thing that JWs, they believe Jesus is angel.Only Mormons believe Jesus is Satan's' brother, and conceived with sexual relations.
Mormons also believe that anyone can be a god when they do well enough in their life.

Depends on how that Christian believes of Christ... like those who believe that Jesus Christ and God the Father are the same person - then NO, we don't believe in the "traditional Jesus" because we know that Jesus Christ has his own body and that he is the Son of God, not God the Father...
I have had Christians explain their view of the Godhead as an egg...having three parts being one. Well, we don't believe they have one body, but two bodies-God and Jesus, one spirit-the Holy Ghost, and all united in one purpose.
So really, no, we don't believe in the "traditional" Jesus... I wouldn't say he is a different Jesus, he is still the Savior or Mankind, the Price of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords... we just know He is not the same physical form as God the Father.
I could say the same of Christians though, that THEY believe in a different Jesus...

Mormon leaders have taught that Jesus’ incarnation was the result of a physical relationship between God the Father and Mary. They believe Jesus is a God, but that any human can also become a god. Christians historically have taught that God is Triune and that He exists eternally as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). No one can achieve the status of God, only He is holy (1 Samuel 2:2). We can only be made holy in God's sight through faith in Him (1 Corinthians 1:2). Jesus is the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16) and is the only one ever to have lived a sinless, blameless life, who now has the highest place of honor in Heaven (Hebrews 7:26). Jesus and God are one in essence, Jesus being the only One existing before physical birth (John 1:1-8, 8:56).

We believe in the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus that was defined by the Council of Nicaea (a committee made of philosophers, church people, politicians, etc) centuries after He lived on earth. The conclusions from that committee weren't even unanimous.
I have seen many posts saying that we believe that Jesus was born because of sex between Heavenly FAther and Mary. That is not our belief at all. We believe, as the Bible says, that Jesus is the son of God and was born from Mary. How that happened we don't know. But, we do teach (and the Book of Mormon says) that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was born. So obviously there was no sex involved.

Yes. Our Jesus loves us more than your Jesus because he sends us living prophets, temples, and a promise of being with our families forever and yours doesn't! And if you ask me, Our Jesus could whop your Jesus' butt any day of the week (except Sunday cuz he doesn't work) So Ha!
Seriously though, dumb question. The only quotes you've supplied are those that correctly state that we believe differently about Jesus than do other Christians. Though different feelings about him, it's still the same long haired, bearded, son of virgin, born in stahl, crucified on some kind of pole (or cross) for the sins of the world man of Nazareth.

"The Jesus of the Bible" is not Jesus as described by the creeds, or the "traditional" Jesus.
There is but ONE Jesus. He is described quite well in the Bible, and teh Book of Mormon.
But, I suppose there are those who, like one character on TV said, can't worship a God they can understand.
edit: ggentry, if you want to sound like youknow waht you're talking about, it's not the Book of the Mormons, it's the Book of Mormon.

I am a mormon and yes we do believe in this same Jesus you are talking about. One of our Articles of Faiths {tells you what we believe in} states: We believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. I hope this answers your question.

they believe in Jesus Christ, but they do have alot of other books that they read, Pearl of great price and Doctorin in Covenants, the Book of Mormon, I can honestly say that they do have alot going for them and I was once a Mormon myself, I had some really strong spiritual experiences and I thought I had the real thing with the church.
They are on to something and they shouldn't be knocked. I respect them and will not want to say anything unkind about them anymore.

The only difference I have read of thus far is that Mormons do not believe that the Heavenly Father and Jesus are one and the same. They do believe they are united in purpose but that is it.
With that said, they do follow Jesus and dare I say even worship Him just as Christians do, just that they do not worship Him as Heavenly father.

If you read Holy Scripture and the Book of Mormons you will find that the Jesus of Scripture and the Jesus of the Book of Mormons can't possibly be the same.
