It would be nice if all people everywhere remembered just one thing...
Faith is a God-thing. Religion is a man-thing.
It's really that simple.

Most people who believe in God are not spending their time killing each other over their differing beliefs.
Of course, those who are monotheistic would say that there *is* just one God, and we *are* in disagreement (not fighting) over which version is correct.
He does not care who is most accurate. However, according to monotheistic religions, he *does* care that he is worshiped in a specified manner. For example, Christians (like me) believe that salvation is only through Jesus, the son of God. (This does not necessarily mean that non-Christians are hell-bound.) Jews believe that there is only one G-d, no trinity, and to believe otherwise is grave sin. In addition, they believe that one must follow the Mosaic Law - not Christian or Muslim teachings. The Muslims teach that God is one God, Jesus is merely a prophet (separating themselves irreparably from common faith with Christians), and that Jews are following a perverted law. Thus, although all can agree to tolerate, and even befriend, each other, none can agree to worship in the same manner because all teach that their way is the only way and that the other ways are *specifically* rejected (by their nature, if not by name).

I believe there is just one God. But He has a lot of names like Krishna(all attractive), Allah(all protector), Yahweh(Father), Jehovah(all powerful) and etc.. It's the same with our names. They can call you Jacob if its your name then Jake or J and etc. each has a meaning to you. And, I believe God doesn't care if who is the most accurate person but what matters to Him is our individual action towards him with a pure heart and good intention ,besides, how would people know if the actions they are doing are accurate? no one may know.. As for me, if I am abided by the 10 commandments then that would be good already...And, God is concern over our good spiritual actions because He is all our Father.

Well yes there is just One God, and it does matter who or what we believe God to be. In the Bible for instance it mentions something being done "for his name's sake" God's reputation and His good name have been greatly tarnished, and it is a shame, because look how bad it's gotten. You mention killing each other, and so many people don't even know who or what God truly is. They don't give him proper credit, cast improper blame, and don't feel they can even get to know him. Imagine if it was that way for you. You'd probably want to set the record straight so there weren't so many false rumors and accusations about you, especially if most guys thought they couldn't even approach anymore, or didn't want to because of what they had heard.

What does it mean to "not follow after other god's? Or "thou shalt have no other god's before me"! God himself speaks about other god's, and calls satan the god of this world, who blinds peoples eyes.
So in effect there are many god's, which are no god at all.
The God of Israel, of Abraham Isacc and Jacob is God, and the only One True and Living God Eternal And Omniscient!
Have a nice day :)

Islam woships a moon god:
http://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-moon-god.htm
1. Moon worship has been practiced in Arabia since 2000 BC. The crescent moon is the most common symbol of this pagan moon worship as far back as 2000 BC.
2. In Mecca, there was a god named Hubal who was Lord of the Kabah.
3. This Hubal was a moon god.
4. One Muslim apologist confessed that the idol of moon god Hubal was placed upon the roof of the Kaba about 400 years before Muhammad. This may in fact be the origin of why the crescent moon is on top of every minaret at the Kaba today and the central symbol of Islam atop of every mosque throughout the world:
About four hundred years before the birth of Muhammad one Amr bin Lahyo ... a descendant of Qahtan and king of Hijaz, had put an idol called Hubal on the roof of the Kaba. This was one of the chief deities of the Quraish before Islam. (Muhammad The Holy Prophet, Hafiz Ghulam Sarwar (Pakistan), p 18-19, Muslim)
5. The moon god was also referred to as "al-ilah". This is not a proper name of a single specific god, but a generic reference meaning "the god". Each local pagan Arab tribe would refer to their own local tribal pagan god as "al-ilah".
6. "al-ilah" was later shortened to Allah before Muhammad began promoting his new religion in 610 AD.
7. There is evidence that Hubal was referred to as "Allah".
8. When Muhammad came along, he dropped all references to the name "Hubal" but retained the generic "Allah".
9. Muhammad retained almost all the pagan rituals of the Arabs at the Kaba and redefined them in monotheistic terms.
10. Regardless of the specifics of the facts, it is clear that Islam is derived from paganism that once worshiped a moon-god.
11. Although Islam is today a monotheist religion, its roots are in paganism.

In all possibility, if there is someone called "GOD", then he would never care if people worship him through whatever religion they follow. He is not a megalomaniac who would burn people in hell just because they worshiped him with a different name.
Afterall, the all powerful & all knowing God must have better things to do rather than spying on people about their religious practices & beliefs.
So chuck all those religions & fanatics who threaten you that you would land in hell if you dont join their religion! Be an agnostic! :)

The thing is, you are 100% correct: there IS only one God. There can only BE one God. One TRUE God, that is; He who created all things, yet, He, himself is uncreated.
The question then is, since there is only one True God, and He created you and gave you life, shouldn't you ask yourself why He did, and what He expects and wants from you?
You're on the right track in discerning that there can only be one God, and He is, in fact, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The uncreated, omnicient, omnipotent One. All other gods are false gods, created in the minds of men whose desire is to rebel against the One True God because they, being sinners, love their sins (i.e., they want to do with their lives what THEY want,) and God hates their sins (i.e., He wants them to live their lives in a way that is pleasing to Him.)
When the other questions I mentioned begin to arise in your heart, and you want to know the answers, I suggest you start reading the Bible beginning in the Gospel of John. I've even provided you with a link below!
God bless you!
