more than 3 grains.
If you want a good reccomendation I feed
Canidae all life stages.

The ingredients to watch out for are corn, wheat, and by-products. There are others, too, but these are the ones most easily identifiable.

please do so. It lists all the major brands and foods, and many obscure ones, too. Also gives a nutritional breakdown and comments about each food. Each food receives a starred rating.
You'll be amazed at how many so-called great brands use corn as a major ingredient. It's indigestible, and to some dogs it is also highly allergenic! Fillers and by-products serve no purpose other than adding bulk to the food. They don't add anything nutritious to the food.

Just buy a good quality dog food like Canidae All Life Stages and you don't have to worry about what is good and what isn't.

Its not labeled,but they use ash(as a filler) in some of the cheaper brands.Charcoal and ash,in short doses can help cleanse the system,but too much over the years will damage and or clog up the kidneys in dogs and cats,causing kidney failure.

You haven't mentioned the bad ingredients in dog food.

Like humans ,dogs can't eat food past their expiration date.Don't give them raw food either. Don't give them human food either because you will spoil them and it's bad for them. the thing that you should NEVER, EVER feed them chocolate!!!!!!! If you want to have the best answers you should check a Vet. Thanks for taking care of your dog!

Go to your local pet store and ask them about dog food. They'll steer you in the right direction.

After that food scare, I feed my dog real meat, and vegies like Oprah Win.
