Do you also blame him for the bad? How do you differentiate? As far as I've seen, all of my Christian friends thank God for EVERYTHING that goes well, and when something goes wrong it's either "That's the effect of free will," "God doesn't always stop bad things from happening," or "It's part of God's plan."

So when do you decide that something good hasn't come from God and how can you justify giving God thanks for ALL the good things in your life? Surely if only SOME bad things are attributable to God, then it's entirely possible that only SOME good things are too.

I've already read Job and 2 Corinthians. Several times.

I thank God for the wonderful things in my life. And I don't blame him for the bad. I know that all good things come from God, and He doesn't like to see bad things happen to me. He is not inherently responsible, it is usually because of something I did, and if it was completely beyond my control, because of something someone else did. And if it had nothing to do with people, it had everything to do with the laws of physics. Which He set in motion, but does not regulate. I'm not sure what your details imply though.

Oh yeah, but bad things do come from God. Like...the flood. But if I'm not very much mistaken, he covenanted with us that he would not intervene anymore. Hm...don't quote me on that though.

Oh Yes I Thank Him for ALL the good things in my life like my Daughter and for letting me be His Child. I can never thank Him enough for everything He has done for me and my Daughter who is a happy healthy 1 year old.

As for blaming Him for all the bad things? not really i sometimes think I am being punished for my mistakes I have made in my life. I am still a new Christian so it may take me time to learn but I am trying. God Bless

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

And, although I don't always remember to do so, I know that it is right to thank God in every circumstance, because I know that I belong to Him and that nothing is going to happen to me that He and I can't handle together.

My days go much better when I remember to thank Him, rather than just letting myself fly off the handle, so to speak.

And, yes, much of what grieves me in this life has a lot to do with my choices and my attitude towards that which is beyond my control.

We live in a world that makes poor choices. The best choice is to give your life to Jesus and let Him help you with the rest of life.

God has always been true to his word in my life... especially when I've tested him on it... I, on the other hand, am more prone to wishy-washy-ness and contrariness.

But EVERY good and EVERY perfect thing in my life is fully and completely from God, Himself.

Yes, I do thank God for the good things, and i don't blame him for the bad ones. I thank him for the strength to get THROUGH the bad ones. Of course, I'm Jewish, so maybe Christians think differently.

I'm not going to give you an answer but I will give you an assignment. Please read the book of Job in the Bible and see what it says. You might also want to read Second Corinthians and see what Paul says about this. God Bless You...

Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).

I thank God for all things. One of the hardest thing is to have something bad happen, and still be able to offer thanks for the trials and teachings. But I don't understand wht all things happen. And God doesn't give me all my "wants". But I do think my "needs" are all met pretty good.

I don't really think there are any bad things in my life. Some are just a lot better than others.
