If you have a job you should be able to buy something on credit, maybe a appliance or some furniture. You might be better off staying with no credit since you pretty much have to buy something to build credit. Maybe your husband can improve his credit then add you as a user on one of his accounts.

You could get what's called a Secured Credit Card, basically you give the company a security deposit (which is fully refundable) of the credit limit you want, and from there it works as a normal credit card and builds your credit rating.

They could be looking at your combined credit rating.......... but a good place to start establishing credit is through a rent to own store.... we did that with a living room set. It shows potential lenders out there that you're serious about establishing credit especially when you've got zero.
And you can always look at ways to cut costs in your own life, so you have more money to work with....... there's lots of books out there on frugal living which should help when the baby comes!
Here's a link for establishing credit:

YOU NEED NO CREDIT.
Live on cash.
Our nation is on the verge of collapse, due to the myth that credit is necessary and helpful.
Those who have saved up and avoided debt completely will be very fortunate, soon, as opportunities are best in the chaos of the impending general financial calamity.
