I agree with the previous answer in that it's a bit underexposed, and totally black areas do not usually work in photographs (or in paintings for that matter).
However it is a rather intersting, dramatic and soulful image, and I wondered if you'd considered making it into a card with some text over the dark bit at the bottom?

From a photographer's standpoint it's underexposed. The camera exposed the picture by reading off of the brightest part of the leaf, and losing detail in the shadows. It's still a very nice picture, it could just be improved by adjusting the shadows and highlights. It's entirely too dark, but you have a great eye. Keep up the good work!

something to do with apples, like a freshly baked apple pie, apple spice truffles or perhaps an apple tree. A conker tree, or teenagers having conker fights. A carved pumpkin with a lit candle interior (taken at lifeless night). distinctive Halloween candy, or brightly embellished Halloween cookies. Fall makes me think of of woodsmoke and bonfires too, so according to possibility a bonfire. an entire moon. a alluring fall sundown. Leaves could be amazing in case you got here upon some amazingly brightly colored ones - sons and daughters taking part in in fallen leaves. :]

Love the coloring of this photo! I love fall photography and am a big fan of people making there own art. I would frame it for all to see! Keep up the great work.

Hey, nice! The leaf looks like it's being lit from behind. That's a real good trick.

You could crop the pic so that the leaf is in the center.

Or maybe not. It might look better set to to one side.

Congratulations.
