A lot of people say that smoking makes you loose weight. Well the fact is it doesn't. What happens is instead of going to get a snack, you have a smoke, which reduces your caloric intake.

I would not recommend taking up smoking. There are other habits that will have the exact same effect that are much healthier and dont have the negative effects of smoking. Chewing a piece of gum, or sucking on mints will do the same thing.

Smoking wont make you sexy. If you start smoking by twelve, you could start to look crinkly by 21, and those are the good years of your life. You dont want to look 40 at the club Hun. Also cigarettes make your breath smell awful. Mints or gum on the other hand would make it smell fresh and pleasing to kiss.

I am not going to tell you what to do. I think you are informed and mature enough to make the right decision.

Don't take up smoking!!! Smoking can make you lose a little weight, like maybe 5 pounds, but there are so many reasons not to smoke, it's ridiculous:
- It's expensive
- It makes you stink - your breath, your hair, your clothes, your house, your car
- It stains your teeth
- You will get a smoker's cough and be hacking up phlegm
- Oh and did I mention that it's addictive? Yeah, you start and it sounds like a great thing to do, but then you're hooked and it sucks!!!
- Oh yeah... and then there's the IT WILL KILL YOU part.

Seriously though, just don't do it. You will thank yourself later that you made the smart decision not to take up smoking.

No. After a while it will make you look older. There are a lot of fat people who are chain smokers. So obviously it doesnt help you lose weight. But it will make you smell like crap. You can always smell a smoker. My aunt started smoking since she was 13. She is almost 40 now and said she wasnt going to smoke anymore. Its been 2 months and she said she is shocked when she smells her friends who are smokers, and she cant believe that she used to smell that way. They dont smell the smoke on themselves. And that smokers cough is so gross too. I've worked with those people and I couldnt stand when they start that coughing with the spit. GROSS!

I wouldn't think a 12 yr. old would care about looking "sexy" for a boyfriend, you're only in what, 6th grade? Geeze. As far as smoking, you can't buy cigarettes even legally, so bad idea. It causes numerous health issues, so if that's the only thinkg you can think of to lose weight, maybe you should ask your parents to take you to a doctor to have your head checked out eh? Just enjoy being a kid for awhile. Save the grown up decisions for when you grow up. :)

However, smoking isn't good for you so don't do it. YOU ARE 12 YEARS OLD. If you want to die of cancer or sound like a robot, then go ahead and smoke.
If you do want to look skinny, excersise, dont smoke.

Smoking will make you stink. Your breath, your clothes - everything. If you smoke to be thin, one day you will want to give it up and you'll really put on weight then. There are better healthier ways to be slim.

yes smoking does suppress your appetite, but if you are gonna smoke just to look prettier then you'll actually be doing yourself a misfavor.

Smoking ages you faster, yellows your teeth, makes you smell bad. makes your breath smell bad, deepens your voice, makes you poor because you are spending a lot of money on cigarettes.

Smoking gives you cancer but try this:
Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies etc. These are the fat making foods. Learn exactly what your food groups are so you then know what puts the weight on and off.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.

If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories. But just do what your body lets you do. Walking is just as good combined with diet control.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets. Like “Slim Right”.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals. If you have to eat something in between have something like small raw carrots or celery sticks.
Herbal teas, low fat milk and water are your best choice of drinks.

Summary:

Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast.
Lunch can best be a protein drink. Like “Slim Right”.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these. Walking as much as you can.
For those that want to build more muscle add some gym work to the above as well.

Technical Stuff:

All our bodies require a specific quantity of a protein level. The protein is taken from the food we eat. If we eat higher concentrations of protein from specific foods like say meat then that level is reached quickly. If we don’t eat enough protein then our body searches for other sources of protein contained within the Carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates only contain a small amount of protein so we end up consuming too much of it just to get out limit of protein. At the same time absorbing too much sugar from the carbohydrates and in turn too much weight. This is how and why we put on weight. Many people over eat because they don’t consume enough protein from the right sources. Then they over compensate by binge eating carbohydrate type foods.

No smoking doesn't make you skinny, eating moderately and exercising does.
Smoking makes your lungs turn black, makes your breath, clothes and body smell like stale smoke. Turns your fingers, teeth and gums yellow. So it's not very attractive.

this is the most stupidest thing i've ever heard. are you serious? drugs make you lose weight too...are you gonna go stick needles in your arm now? while your at it...take up on a lil' drinking. in the future you'll start shitting out blood clots like my father and you'll realize how stupid you were for even starting out smoking.

i'm ashamed for you.
