They are all the same. It seems that they only show an interest in you when you are signing up and giving them your money. I invested in my own equipment and can now work out in the comfort of my own home. Yea, it cost some money to have the equipment that I have, but I never have to wait for a station and when the equipment needs attention, the manager is always be available.

Yeah same with the ones I used to go to. I switched to Life Time Fitness. Great Decision there. ITs an amazing club.

Well, since I am in the mood to remember all the good things that have happened in my life....I will tell you this...I went to Los Angles Weight Loss to lose 15 lbs and I wanted to go there before work everyday and it was close to work They were advertising a 15 buck or something special per pound or whatever. Somehow that woman convinced me that I needed to spend 1200 bucks and financed it for me. She insisted I would be able to weigh in 3 times a week before work....Well guess what.....I couldn't be seen before work. They made me eat those stupid candy bars and I had to pay for those upfront and they were out of my favorite flavors. When I joined they weighed me with my coat on and thereafter made me practically strip. I told them I was constipated and they tried to sell me more stuff...always more stuff. To make a long story short, I had to go to my Dr and tell him those bars were constipating me and get a note and go to the top and I had all of it refunded except 300 dollars. :(

my brother cancelled his membership years ago. bally sent him offers to rejoin every now and then. recently we decided we'd look into their latest offer: $8/mo for him and about $16 for family/friends. 1 year contract.

we went to bally's to discuss this in person with them. they told us, my bro owed $1,300!! yah right... then why didnt they ever send collection letters? and why are they sending offers to REJOIN?

the guy said unfortunately he couldn't delete the amount off the system. he tried to convince us to take up his special offer. he'd open a new membership for my bro and then give us a family plan. we told him, we came in based on the mailed offered, and wouldn't settle for less. that's not right to now say they would only honor that offer if my bro paid $1,300.

we were told to call bally's hq to waive what was 'owed' and then come back. my bro called and they said it was taken care of, and a confirmation letter was being sent out. a bunch of b-s. we're still not members and won't try anymore. i heard they're going bankrupt anyways.
