Hookah does not have chemical additives to the tobacco like in cigarettes. They are marinated in molasses and fruit flavors. When smoking it properly through the hookah, it is filtered by the water. With hookah it also COOKS the tobacco and not burns the tobacco like cigarettes so you are ingesting less tobacco that way also.
The average one hour smoking session is the equivalent of smoking 2.5 Cigarettes.

From what I heard, flavoured tobacco needs to be unfiltered to really get the flavour kicking. That might be why its "worse" than cigarettes. Then again, yes. I do smoke. But I prefer those that give a mild "smokey" taste rather than flavouring. Its in the type of tobacco they use. I personally prefer Indonesian ones. Namely, the "Gudang Garam" brand.
They're still filtered and usually last longer than Malboro cigs as well. Lawl.

It's unfiltered, so it's not great either.
I don't know what it is with the tobacco questions tonight, but all of you, give this crap up. By thie time you hit 40 you'll be feeling the difference. Tobacco sucks. 'nuf said. Give the **** up. Grow up. There are lots of other things to die from, don't make your life worse. There is no good way to get tobacco, except in a package that you immediately put in the garbage. Okay?? And believe you me, a death from lung cancer is NOT pretty.

Probably as bad as regular tobacco I don't think the flavor makes it any worse but certainly no better.
