I would suggest you try Open Office which you can download for free. You may find the help files lacking, but the software is really quiet good. You can open and save documents in MS Office format. Note: I'm not sure about MS Office 2007 files, but then again older versions of MS Office can't open them either without an add on program.

You have a new computer and you can't get Microsoft Word CD to download?

Microsoft Word allows you to use one copy of the same CD on three computers. If you've used the CD a couple of times before and/or let other's use it, that's probably your problem.

MSOffice does not come with Windows. Instead, MS expects you to cough up even more money.

However, there is a free program called OpenOffice that does just about everything the average user would ever need. It is free and can be found at openoffice.org

You'll have to buy it.
Google OpenOffice and download that and use it temporarily or as long as you like. It's free and can read all the files that MSWord reads.
