The new Xboxes out now have new heat sinks and they are releasing the new cooler running Falcon CPU chips right now as well (link below for Falcon information).. so basically if you get an Xbox 360 now there is a good chance that it won't break and even if it does with a 3 year warranty they fix it for free..

Right now Xbox has it all.. great games.. awesome online.. low price.. its a great time to buy an Xbox..

Right now PS3 has promises of many great games to come later.. promises of an awesome online service to come later.. high price..

If I were you I would buy an Xbox 360 to play for now.. and wait for Sony's promises come true and then get the PS3 (by then the price will be reasonable).. Unless you have a bunch of PS2 games in which case you should buy a 60GB PS3 right away before they are all sold out (60GB is the last PS3 with full hardware backwards compatibility.. the new 40GB $400 PS3 coming out next week has NO PS2 compatibility)

First of all, the Playstation 3 does have some good games out, they probably just aren't what you are looking for. To me, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, and Resistance Fall of Man are the best games for the PS3 at the moment. And Rachet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction just came out this past Tuesday and it's a PS3 exclusive also. In November, 2 or 3 more PS3 exclusive games are coming out, plus other games as well that will be on the 360 and PS3.

The PS3 in my opinion has the best future exclusives, it is the better console, and it is a wise investment.

I really don't know why you can't decide on either console. This is how I see it: If you have owned only Sony consoles like me (PS1, PS2) then get the PS3 without a doubt. If you owned only a Xbox, then I guess get a Xbox 360 even though it will most likely die. And if you owned a PS1, PS2, and a Xbox get the PS3 because you probably have more games on your PS2 anyways that you can play on the PS3.

Get a PS3, I think that Microsoft was too caught up in trying to beat Sony in the next-gen console war that they just totally forgot about quality and now it's costing Microsoft.

Seriously for the long term investment the ps3. It will take you past 1012. Hd games need larger disc capacity for more space to allow the developers to develop quality games worth the 60 bucks. Ps3 games are on 50 gig Blueray. XBox 360 can only use 8.4 gig dvds for their games.

Unless microsoft allows developers to develop on 25gig hddvds and microsoft starts packing the 360 with the hddvd player instead of selling it for $189 seperately , microsoft won't be able to compete in the near future. I seriously believe microsoft will HAVE to re-release another 360 by the end of 2008 early 2009.

So for the money and less hassle the ps3 is the way to go in the long run.

The PS3 game line-up for 08 looks good and this year Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Haze, CoD4, and Assasins Creed will be released. PS3 has less than 0.2% of getting hardware/game problem and the 360 has 32%, less with the Elite. Takes about a month to get the 360 back if you get the RROD and send it to Microsoft. My suggestion, get a PS3.

Well the xbox isn't broke yet, so that's a pretty good pick. If you don't play it for 5 hours straight it won't die on you. It dies when it gets too hot because people play it nonstop all day. Play in moderation and you'll do fine. The PS3 is fine though...so, it's up to you, obviously. But don't shy away from the xbox simply because other people have had problems.
