Why is it when you ask fundies for a logically constructed?

answer to a logical proposition based on their beliefs--they give some off the wall answer? It's like asking someone what color is your car? and getting the answer-"the visigoths attacked rome in the 3rd century".

The corollary to your question is, "Why, after similar experiences repeating over and over again, would you expect something different from them?"

The very idea that someone accepts fundamentalism requires such a shutting down of the reasoning faculties, it prevents rational thought in other areas, too. If the Bible is your yardstick, your measurements will always be off.

Because a fundie is incapable of giving an intelligent answer. So they think they can make themselves look smart by spamming the forum with Bible verses, many of which have no correlation to the others, or to the question being asked. They do that because that's what they've been told to do when someone asks a question in real life--point at a random verse and start preaching. It's part of the brainwashing they do in their churches.

these are the people who take literally the cultural myths of some ancient goat herding desert nomads. right? talking snakes and donkeys, the sun and moons halted in the sky, a woman turned into a salt lick, leprosy cured by the ritual killing of doves, a 6000 year old Earth, Jonah living inside a big grouper, pairs of every animal on the planet stuffed inside a boat for over a month, the color of a kid being determined by having the pregnant goat look at different colored sticks ... all literally true as far as the people you're addressing are concerned. keep that in mind and you'll not frustrate yourself anymore.

"Fundies" is a generalization and your ability to be logical is self proclaimed. Why not just allow the religious to proclaim their superiority in their beliefs while you proclaim yours in your logic?

Because faith in a god has absolutely NO logic in it. That is why they are called faith based belief systems. I think it is funny to watch them try though. They so desperately want their religion to make sense they end up making insane argument trying to justify their beliefs.
