re-install it. you probably contracted a virus that, when removed, will also take an important microsoft excel system file with it. it happened to me once. i got a virus, so i removed it. next thing you know, my excel stopped working and kept asking me for the installation cd.

some function are not installed at the first time of installation, so it asked the installation CD again.

Just put the Cd it take automatically

You can try system restore if the installation disk is no longer available
