This wondrous Event took place in the 8th century A.D. in the little Church of St. Legontian, as a divine response to a Basilian monk's doubt about Jesus' Real Presence in the Eucharist.
During Holy Mass, after the two-fold consecration, the host was changed into live Flesh and the wine was changed into live Blood, which coagulated into five globules, irregular and differing in shape and size.
The Host-Flesh, as can be very distinctly observed today, has the same dimensions as the large host used today in the Latin church; it is light brown and appears rose-colored when lighted from the back.
The Blood is coagulated and has an earthy color resembling the yellow of ochre.
Various ecclesiastical investigation ("Recognitions") were conducted since 1574.
In 1970-'71 and taken up again partly in 1981 there took place a scientific investigation by the most illustrious scientist Prof. Odoardo Linoli, eminent Professor in Anatomy and Pathological Histology and in Chemistry

and Clinical Microscopy. He was assisted by Prof. Ruggero Bertelli of the University of Siena.
The analyses were conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision and they were documented with a series of microscopic photographs.
These analyses sustained the following conclusions:
The flesh is real flesh. The blood is real blood.
The flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the heart (myocardium)
The flesh and blood belong to the human species.
The flesh and blood have the same blood type (AB).
In the blood, there were found proteins in the same normal proportions as are found in the sero-proteic make up of fresh, normal blood.
In the blood, there were also found these minerals: Chlorides, phosphorous, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. The preservation of the flesh and of the blood, which were
left in their natural state for twelve centuries (without any chemical preservatives) and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents,

There have been many Eucharistic Miracles over the years.
I believe already with my whole heart that My Lord and Savior is present, body and blood, soul and divinity, under the species of the Holy Eucharist and Wine at Consecration.
We (Catholics) do this because of his order "Do this in remembrance of me". Also, he did not say "This represents, or is supposed to be" He said "This IS my body...and This IS my blood."
What a truly precious and glorious gift the Lord Jesus gave to the world at the Last Supper.
In His Love,

Edge ... the Eucharist is not a re-sacrifice. Christ's sacrifice was indeed singular, a one-time occurrence. Through the Eucharist, that sacrifice is made present to us sacramentally, just as it is always present before God -- who is not bound by the limits of time and space.

Hi Tebone,
There had been a maunscript written in both Greek and Latin, attesting to the miracle. It was said to have been written and certified at the time of the miracle.
"A Basilian monk, wise in the ways of the world, but not in the ways of faith, was having a trying time with his belief in the real presence of Our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. He prayed constantly for relief from his doubts, and from the fear that he was losing his vocation. He suffered through the routine of his priesthood day after day, with these doubts gnawing at him.
The situation in the world did not help strengthen his faith. There were many heresies cropping up all the time, which kept chipping away at his faith. They were not all from outside the church either. Brother priests and bishops were victims of these heresies, and they were being spread throughout the church. This priest couldn't seem to help being more and more convinced by the logic of these heresies, especially the one concerning his particular problem, the physical presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
One morning, while he was having a strong attack of doubt, he began the Consecration of the Mass for the people of the town. He used the same size host which is used in the Latin Rite masses today. What he beheld as he consecrated the bread and wine caused his hands to shake, indeed his whole body. He stood for a long time with his back to the people, and then slowly turned around to them.
He said; "O fortunate witnesses to whom the Blessed God, to confound my disbelief, has wished to reveal Himself in this Most Blessed Sacrament and to render Himself visible to our eyes.
Come, brethren, and marvel at our God so close to us. Behold the Flesh and Blood of our most beloved Christ." The host had turned into Flesh. The wine had turned into Blood.
The people, having witnessed the miracle for themselves, began to wail, asking for forgiveness, crying for mercy. Others began beating their breasts, confessing their sins, declaring themselves unworthy to witness such a miracle. Still others went down on their knees in respect, and thanksgiving for the gift the Lord had bestowed on them. All spread the story throughout the town and surrounding villages."
Thank you for posting this.
"He who feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has life eternal, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is real food, and my blood real drink." John 6:54-56

i dont doubt your word. the wine and bread are His flesh and blood. you probably know that the blood of a human son can be traced back and prove who his real dad is.its called r and a d and a.test. well i want to see then trace jesus blood to his real father.who was spirit he did not have a biological father he had a earthly legal father. a person can drink the wine and eat bread allday but if they are not born again. jesus said you must be born again of the water and the spirit. god bless pastor carney

Isn't that just TOO awesome?!!! I love it when science gives these doubters proof. "HA!!!"
But I just can't understand how "Edge" still says that he doesn't believe. I mean, if I saw a question that proved my opinion THAT wrong I'd just not answer it. It just makes him look foolish when he answers it that way.

Thanks for the excellent post Tebone. My mother just returned from Rome and was able to see this miracle. It is truly awesome and helps to prove to those who do not believe. For those of us who do...it's just affirmation of what we already know.

Those who refuse to believe the simple truths of Scripture will be led astray by miracles so powerful even the elect could be misled, if that were possible, which it is not. His sheep hear His voice, and will not follow another, especially into idolatry of the "host."
Edit:
smegmakid8677, I'll read my my Bible, but will you read yours? See John 6:63, where Jesus clarifies that His teaching is to be understood as pertaining to spirit, not flesh. That he should be so misunderstood, even today, betrays the fatal habit of the idolatrous mind of man, that things spiritual should always be converted to physical objects of worship. May God forgive us.

Sorry but I don't believe the bread and wine literally turn to His flesh and blood. We are told He offered one sacrifice for all sins. Not that his flesh and blood would be sacrificed again and again every week. Yes Jesus is there in church with us. He promised us where 2 or 3 are gathered He would be there. But communion is done in remembrance of His sacrifice. It does not literally re-enact His sacrifice over and over again.
Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Catholicgal - You want an honest answer from me about this question? I don't believe it. Sorry but I just don't. I think it is likely a hoax. Not trying to offend but I just don't believe it. You cannot sacrifice Jesus over and over again. He was sacrificed one time. Only once.
