I don't agree. Speeding reduces your reaction time significantly, making it more likely that you will get into an accident.

I agree that people pulling out in front of other people and people yacking on their mobiles are very dangerous and do cause accidence but speeding does cause accidence to. I recently went on a speed awareness course because I was caught speeding and I learnt a lot about how accidences are caused by speeding and the percentages of accidence that are caused by speeding. When someone pulls out in front of you if you are driving to fast then you may not have time to react to what has happened. I also learnt that just by driving at 32 mph faster can increase the stopping distance by quite a few metres. I can't remember exactly by how much. Also if you hit a person at 30 mph they have an 80% chance of surviving, if you hit them at 35mph they have 50% and if you hit them at 40mph they only have 10% chance of surviving. If you are travelling at 30 mph and hit a car travelling at 30 mph that is an impact of 60 mph, so imagine if that happened but you or the other person was driving faster.
These are UK speeds but I would think the same things still happen if you speed.

Where is your evidence?????????
Speeding DOES cause accidents and kills and injures many people.
I agree that other bad behaviour also causes accidents, including some senior citizens driving unpredictably, and people yacking on phones. But an oldie driving at 30 kph is easy to avoid, whereas a speed freak appearing out of nowhere at 120 kph is another story.
It's simple: the higher the speed, the shorter the reaction time, and the greater the violence of the collision.

Well, they sure do cause accidents, when they pull out in front of you, or when they are talking on the cell phones. However, speeding isn't good either, because you should be in control of your car at all times. When you are speeding, that would be hard to do. By the way, its not just the older folks that pull out in front of you. How about the loud music? That is a factor to take into consideration also.

speeding also causes accidents ,because i have witnessed a few of them as to where if the driver had been going slower, they could have stopped in time,im not saying all accidents are caused by speeding, your right on the cell phone deal ,and there's other things that contribute to it also, but speeding is dangerous, and does cause accidents, and usually makes the accident worse than it would have been if the car had been traveling at a normal rate of speed.everyone now days can cause an accident, all it takes is one second of looking away, and then it can happen, good luck.

Makes little difference when the result is injury or death. You get the tickets you deserve, and, people that pull out, dangerously in front of other cars get the ones THEY deserve.
This is another case of a dangerous driver whining because they think the OTHER driver is MORE dangerous.
The whole idea that you have MULTIPLE speeding tickets indicates, to me, that citations are not enough of a deterrent to make you stop. I imagine that even if you had your license taken away from you, that you would STILL drive, and drive too fast for the road conditions.

Remove the 'not' and you 'got' it. You probably have excellent responses to surprises and to your highway-sharers' mistakes, as I sense you're a young person. But all drivers must balance response-to-risk and, for the most part, manage to hack it, thankfully. But, first and foremost, look out for the ones that can't. And continue to find a balance between your skills and their inaptitudes and ineptitudes. Also, the mark of a good driver is delivering their cargo alive and their not being afraid to be with you. I'm elderly -76- no accidents, but have saved many (distracted) drivers from one -- self-preservation. Constant alertness is key. SPEED IS RELATIVE TO CONDITIONS. Hopefully, you'll be 76 one day --- it's not so bad. Very best wishes to you and keep the shiny-side, etc.

Speeding does not cause accidents. People driving beyond their skills causes accidents. Whether they're going faster than they can handle or the weather is more than they can handle or the road is more than they can navigate or they're on the phone. Whatever the case may be it's the person that causes accidents not the act of speeding. I agree that there are many other infractions on the road causing accidents that should be ticketed and don't understand why they are ignored.

speeding does both and yes driving slow also causes accidents and forces others to take chances they normally would not if you were at the speed limit.

I agree and disagree. speeding does not necessarily cause accidents, but weaving in and out of traffic while speeding does cause accidents. people yacking on cells cause frustrated people to have accidents.
