Alot of people say for "imagination" purposes but why would you play with God like that. I mean when it comes down to it Jesus is the reason for the celebration and he shouldnt be overshadowed by a Bunny dropping e-coli eggs on the ground. Most kids dont even know the reason they celebrate. So could anyone tell me a reason why?

IT'S JUST TRADITION!!???

Anyway, Jesus wasn't born in December and it doesn't seem that he rose in April and what does the phase of the moon have to do with Easter anyway?

Bah those are just old world traditions that wormed their way into modern culture. Some folks say they are pagan but even if they are I never heard anyone do Satanic chants at an Easter egg hunt or at Christmas so I guess even the pagan part got phased out.
But don't tell that to a Jehosaphat Witness or they will lay an egg on the spot.

All this brain work makes me hungry, Where is that leftover lasagna?

Ya know... Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny can be fun or whatever.

But I do think that there should be a line drawn. If you are a family living for Jesus Christ, and are trying to raise your children to understand and know Him, you should reflect everything you celebrate on Him.

I mean, if a parent wants to have fun with their kids and pretend there is a Santa claus...whatever. Do what you want. But make sure your children know what christmas and easter is really all about.

I do not see it as something bad or as playing with God. Santa Claus has nothing to do with religion and the same with the poor Easter bunny. It is just fun. Relax, you are not offending God by having fun. It is not like you are praying to the Easter bunny or Santa Claus every night when you go to bed.

I see some people right here say their mothers and fathers in no way allowed them to have confidence in Santa yet in my opinion i think of that's undesirable parenting when you consider that they in all probability additionally indoctranating their teenagers into their faith, by using fact Santa and the Easter Bunny in basic terms being slightly bit relaxing right into a teenagers life and studying they not genuine of their own time facilitates a infant see that faith is created from they choose for to have confidence that.

Children learn to celebrate that which the family does.

Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are not religious figures.

God does not feel threatened.

We also celebrate birthdays, graduations, marriages and newborns.

That does not mean that these celebrations are religious.

Why does Christianity threaten you?

You can "believe" in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny without the religious undertone.

I've never raised my kids to believe that Santa and the Easter Bunny were real. They know them as cutesy, harmless fables, apart from the true story of Jesus.

because that which inspires santa and easter bunny is greater than that which inspires religion.... the proof is the religions have to concede to accepting these things on earth... just because they seek to religify it and put a christian spin to it doesn't mean they have what it takes to defeat it.... everything that is good in this world has emerged from things beyond religions... unfortunately the christians seek to remove the origins of these traditions as to claim responsibility of them... when christians proclaim themselves moral compared to the non christians...remember that fairytales which are pagan in origin always carry a moral to the story... this is where true morality evolved from...

Personally I think it is a wonderful idea to take away your childs innocence and imagination. Better to start them off to face the real and ugly world right from birth. No watching cartoons either...afterall...those are fake as well.
