I am a Christian, I bought a Halloween costume for my 20 month old and planned to take her trick-or-treating next week. She is my first and only child and I'm really looking forward to it. I don't celebrate evil, I just thought it would be something fun for her and I to do together. But being a Christian, am I wrong? Thankyou

Halloween is basically just for fun. I don't believe it holds any type of satanic or evil purposes. When kids think of Halloween they think, fun costumes, candy, fun with friends and scary but fun stuff. They don't think they are celebrating satanic purposes or acting in blasphemous ways. As long as she is having fun there is nothing wrong with it, and it can be a the start of many bonding experiences every year.
You go off and have fun now! he he

Halloween can be done in either the right or wrong way. You get to choose. If you make Halloween about trick-or -treating and having a good time... you are in no fault at all.

On the other hand, if you are using the day of Halloween to worship satan...Yeah, you'd be in the wrong.

I am a christian, and Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. So have fun and bring back lots of candy!

I am Jewish and my father didn't like the idea of my brother and I going trick-or-treating because he said that Halloween was a Christian holiday. But he didn't stop us because I think he realized what we were doing really had nothing to do with following another religion and all we really cared about was the candy. So if you look at it as a fun thing to do that has nothing to do with religion it should probably be ok.

As a fellow Christian I think its fine. Its not the holiday but your heart. I let my kids trick or treat.. we look at it like dress up day.... and have fun and spend time with friends and family.. we are not out sacrificing animals. Also the kids are not allowed to wear anything evil or scary is my only rule.
You can also use it as a time to witness. when your baby gets candy, hand them back a tract or say God bless.....
Whats the difference if you stay home and hand out candy as others do... then you are encouraging trick or treaters anyway.
A good rule I go by is asking God to make my heart sensitive to what He wants me to do... not others... people distort God sometimes to get their way.

no, its not wrong no matter what anyone tells you. You relationship with god is all you need to be concerned with. Other people will try to use your natural attraction to him for their own benefit. They have for centuries. Don't worry about what other people will say or think, you'll know whats right and wrong, and I actually think in this case, the vast majority of people will tell you they never even think of halloween as 'evil'...

I'm a Christian, and my family goes out. I don't think it is wrong unless you go and do evil things. As long if you don't dress up as satanic things or do satanic things on Halloween, I don't think it's wrong.

there is nothing satanic about trick or treating. have fun. at 20 months she probably won't last long. When my oldest was 20 months, we took her for the first time and after she had three pieces of candy she said that was enough. I think she wanted to stop and eat her candy.
