If you are praying the exact same words using some exact, prescribed ritual each day, and you are not praying from the heart according to what you want to communicate to God, then you are violating what we are taught to do:

Matthew 6:7 (King James Version)

(7) But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

On the other hand, if you pray each day, or even multiple times a day, and you do so with sincerity, then there is no way that you are doing the exact same thing each time. No different than is it insanity to speak to any given person who is a member of your day-to-day life.

It's only insanity if prayer is reduced to repeated actions.

Some of the most brilliant people in history were "touched" with madness or insanity. And Einstein was referring to scientific research, not spiritual matters, in his statement. Once again, taking a statement out of context is very misleading ... Blessings!

i think thats crazy..cuz you should also use prayer to communicate with GOD to tell him Thank You for all the things he's done. because people only seem to pray when something is going wrong or if they have problems. GOD doesn't like that he wants you to be in communication with him at all times. that's not insanity

I think It's pretty obvious what he said is food for thought as you see fit to apply (it is your doing not his ). But he was actually contemptuous of war and stupidity not religion . He had his own moral views.someone needs correction badly here is a link of some of his quotes that validates what i'm stating .

Well my prayers produce results so I don't HAVE to ask them over and over again.

Don't know about other folks.

He just said that to defend the scientists who experiment, ie, do the same thing over and over expecting the same result :)

Einstein was contemptuous of religious activity so I think that your conclusion has some validity.
