Find the file you want to copy to CD in Windows Explorer. Right-click on the file and select "Send to " then "DVD" or "CD/Read-Write drive X:" where X: is your CD or DVD writeable drive.
If you have a 3rd party software installed like "Easy CD or DVD Creator" the procedure may be slighly different and require that you use the native interface of the application. However the procedure outlned above, generically, should work.
If you are having problems you may want to try the InfraRecorder open source utility available from http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ to burn your CD or DVD.
Good luck!

I have two burners - a Samsung and a Dell.
Both require me to use CD/RWs.
The CD/RWs must first be formatted with the software running the burner before the CD/RW can be used to store data files. You will have to look this up in the User's Guide that should have come on the CD with your burner's driver.
I used CD/RWs this way for a couple of years until flashdrives became available. Don't use CD/RWs anymore. Flashdrives hold so much more and price has come way down.
