Do people really believe that the members of the Baptist Church in Topeka,Kansas are really Christian?
When Atheists see something like this do they think that all Christians are this crazy and that's why they ridicule us?
As a Christian I'm not afraid to take a stand and say that these people are not Christian but something else altogether.
And that something would be more akin to the devils advocate.
Wouldn't you agree?

Thank You now I know I'm not the only one who thinks these people are evil.
And I wasn't referring to all Atheists just the ones who think Christians are crazy because of people like this bunch in Kansas.
I hope they get their butts sued and that will be the end of their little bandwagon of tormenting innocent people.

Scotgirl you have a great idea!
I would love to write them and tell them to stop this madness and leave people alone.
And tell them to stop calling themselves Christians because nothing could be farther from the truth.
I'll try and figure out a way to start up my own protest of this unacceptable behavior so they'll know it will not be tolerated.
Great idea and thanks.

No where in the bible does it say to harass innocent people or even Homosexuals.
We are to set an example of what its like to be a child of God and leave people alone.
We are to be loving to everyone no matter what just like Jesus who hung out with Prostitutes and Drunkards but never once harassed them for being what they were.
If He had then they would not have trusted Him enough to be saved and would have walked away instead.
If a doctor only saw people who are well then no one would ever get cured.
And if a doctor only harassed those who are sick then how would anyone benefit from that either?
No what those people are doing is wrong and we are not supposed to tolerate such behavior we are to stand up for Jesus and admonish them for giving people the wrong idea about Him.

Just because someone believes in Jesus doesn't mean they're a Christian.
Satan believes in Jesus and knows for a fact that Jesus exists.
Is Satan going to heaven just because he believes in Jesus?
No he isn't he will be destroyed in the end never to cease again.
What Jesus wants is for us to accept Him and love Him its what's in our hearts that determines if we go to heaven or not.
Anyone can believe in Jesus but if they don't accept Him and Love him and repent from their sins then they're just as doomed as Satan and will ultimately suffer the same fate as well.

Jennifer's right ALL the families who have been hurt by the Baptist church members while trying to bury their dead should receive restitution.
What they've done is an abomination to the Lord and to people in general and the families who have been hurt by this have a right to seek justice for whats been done to them.
I heard about this a little over a year ago and I could not believe this was happening and being allowed to happen.
I've never in all my life heard of such a thing as this and I hope those people are stopped.

First of all, these men's death was not a punishment for the "country's" tolerance for homosexuality.

Gen 18:25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Secondly, this is a church full of idiots who are bent on an issue instead of serving the Lord Jesus Christ, and they should be sued. They are giving Christians a bad name.

I'm shocked!!! I've never heard of a church doing anything like this. Do they believe in God? Are they real Christians? If so, they are reading a different Bible than the one that I have. I can only pray that they will be brought to justice and hope that non-Christians understand that they are the exception, not the rule.

Sad to say, if they believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, I'm afraid they're arguably Christians of some stripe.

Are they Christians that the rest of Christianity wants to be associated with? Oh, heavens, no... although I've known a few Evangelicals who say that if Phelps didn't use the "f" word so much, they'd pretty much agree with him verbatim.

That is just horrendous and outrages me not only as a Christian but as a human being!! You better believe the Lord is very angered over this!! I am astounded!!! But the Bible speaks of this happening in the end of times!! I pray that people wake up, this is not the Lord's will!! I feel so badly for those families hurt by this!! They should receive restitution!!

Yes - this group has been in the news several times over the last couple of years.

They are hateful, evil people who do not apparently know the first thing about scripture, nor do they follow the teaching of Jesus, so you're right, they are not Christians.

Maybe we should all start writing letters to that "church" and urge them to cease and desist their evil ways.

Their behavior is disgraceful!!

I agree.
These psychos are all related, and make up a tiny congregation in the middle of Kansas. It is an abomination of reason and logic to associate such a small group with a body of 2,000,000,000 people.

As an Atheist, I'm suprised that you think all Atheists ridicule all Christians. I do, however, agree with you in ridiculing these cruel people who wear a facade of righteousness.

Unacceptable. Be Christian if you want, that's your right. But no one has the right to do that.

This is what happens when you let the Bible do your thinking for you. This is also the reason I remain adamantly opposed to all religions.
