How about we avoid semantics. Are sinners going to burn forever in hell? The Bible seems clear they will so why do some "Christians" teach there is no Hell? For my purposes lets assume Hell refers to a place of punishment and fire.
Sinners are cast into an everlasting fire.
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Everlasting punishment for sinners.
Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
If Hell is just the grave then why are we warned to fear the one who can kill and then cast you into Hell? If you are dead what fear does a grave hold?
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
The rich man was in torment in Hell.

They smoke from the burning of those who took the mark ascends forever.
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

The beast and the false prophet suffer forever in the lake of fire.
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Satan is cast in to join them
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Anyone who's name was not found in the book of life is cast into the fire.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

fedup with religion - funny the last time I was at a funeral and they place someone in a grave it was not a burning lake of fire. Maybe I need my eyes checked.

Hell is real. Fire is torment because when you are buring it hurts. Simple as that. And if you think its not real, just wait until you die. thats when everyone will wish they had listened.

Yes there is a hell. There is also a heaven and several other dimensions as well. Hell is what you make it...if you believe that you will burn then that's what will happen. If you believe some old man is sitting on a throne in heaven then thats what you will have. But so many get hung up on the physical manifestations of these ideas. Want the truth. Your in a sort of hell now. If you are not completely in God's hands then you are separated from God. Separation is Hell. The level of torment you feel in this life is your manifestation. To be completely reunited then you cast off all attachments to this dimension, open your heart and walk through the "gates" to enlightenment. if you want to help those in their "Hell" pray for them. Good luck!

Go find a fire (be safe) throw in a piece of paper OK now do you still see the paper. No if you do let it burn a little longer.
Everlasting Fire just means that person will never be resurrected.
So take the forewarning and serve God in the way he outlines for us in the bible and you should be fine.
also you should look at other bibles and look at there wordings on those scriptures it can help shed light on it.

The true word is all people will eventually go to Heaven. There is no Hell, but Earth is 99% there. God has a time out corner that is just dark space, some call it pergatory. A person whom loves evil is a sinner and sinners shall stay in pergatory until the end of the world.

Hell, like heaven, is not only a state of existence, but a literal, and very real, place. It is a place where the unrighteous will experience never-ending, eternal wrath from God. They will endure emotional, mental, and physical torment, consciously suffering from shame, regret, and contempt.

Thats a good one. If you throw semantics aside, most of the Christian populous can't answer.
I will give you my firm belief, since I can't push a button and give you indisputable proof of its existence, location and internal temperature...
Hell, in my understanding of everything I have read, every talk I have heard about it and from answers to my own prayers, is not a place where you burn for an eternity. Here's the "From the book of ME" definition of it: Hell is being cast out of the Lords presence into "outer darkness". Its a Hell because you are cast away from God. Contrary to popular misunderstanding of their own scriptures, most modern Christians believe that Hell is the place where sinners go.When in fact the scriptures talk of only those who commit the unforgivable sin ( denying God with explicit knowledge of His existence) and those who take the lives of others will be the recipients of Hell. Jesus' atonement was to keep us from Hell unless we make the choice to go there anyway ( unforgiveable sin and murder).

Let's forget about the fire, smoke, and pain for a moment: the very worst part about hell is the complete, everlasting lack of God. That is the most frightening thing I could ever imagine.

Yes, it's real. To put it another way, I don't want to find out! Some life experiences have taught me to err on the side of caution, especially when a spirit appears and says he's the king of hell. I didn't used to believe in hell, but now I do. Don't take chances with your eternal soul.

Of course it's real!
But, we also have to differentiate two Hells: the one that exists now in Sheol and the Lake of Fire.

As all your body remains here on earth and only your soul goes away, how can a non material spirit be burned by flames?
All such kind of tales are just symbolic.
Now they teach that all the suffering arises by not being able to be in God's grace and close to him.

Hell is a real place. That is why for example JWs' doctrine of hell is popular because they do not believe in biblical hell.
Jesus talked more about the hell than about heaven. God does not want us to choose hell. It is a place to avoid with all your might. Hell is real, like it or not.
