bring an mp3 player and listen to music, watch the onboard entertainment (your going to get at least a movie to watch on board) bring some novels and/or magazines to read, sleep (your crossing the international date line) eat, do puzzles (like crosswords or sudoku) and if you are traveling with friends or family, then you can do stuff (like play cards, play games etc...) with them. Just remember, you have to turn off all electronics during take off and landing and dont forget to get some sleep on board. I remember flying from Taipei to the west coast this one time and I had serious jet lag. I would be up during the night time on the west coast and sleep during the day.

have a safe flight :-)

You will want to make sure you are well entertained. so either you bring things that will keep you occupied for awhile, OR see if they have any on board items such as movies or music.

I went through a 14 hour flight myself from vancouver to beijing and it was challenging.

The best thing of course is to try and get some sleep and that'll take up the majority of your time.

Ok, here goes... Now if you're going frm Taipei to Seattle you're prolly flying on either one of these aircrafts... A Boeing 747 or an Airbus A330.

First let's do the Boeing 747 scenario.....

If you're flying on World Business Class, you'll be good to go.. They hand out your personal entertainment screen. With that, you'll be able to select the movie you like,,, play a game with another passenger in WBC and or listen to the MP3's in the system.

Now if you're flying on Main Cabin, a.k.a. Coach... The only entertainment that you'll have is the inflight movie... They'll have big projection screen for you to watch in. Jes plug in the headset in your armrest and you'll be able to hear what's goin on in the screen. Other than that, you can change the channel on the channel selector to listen in to music... There's different genre's of music on every channel. Which means, you'll have ample entertainment,,, u jes don't have control over it. That's why I suggest that if you're flying on a 747 coach class. Bring a book, DVD player, Mp3 player or a magazine to amuse you when the inflight main cabin entertainment isn't doin it for you.

Now let's do the Airbus A330 Scenario...

Since this airplane is a much newer aircraft than the 747, you'll have lots of things to do in WBC or coach class.... The only difference is the seats in WBC recline all the way down and it has a foot rest that extends.. Real comfort for the price you pay. Another plus in WBC is that their TV's are 10inch monitors... It's amazing....

In Coach class they have 6inch monitors on every headrests of the seat,,, You can select and watch any movie you want once the inflight entertainment system kicks in. There's also an array of MP3's to choose from if you wanna take a break from watching your movie. If you don't wanna do either music or watching movies,,, there's also an inflight game which you can play by yourself or challenge other passengers in coach class....

Same selections go for WBC,,, The only difference is that they get a gang of amenities up fron't than what you get back there...

Anyways,,, have fun on your trip and GOD SPEED!

I suggest you wear loose fitting clothes and shoes, as feet swell up from sititng for a long time. try to get up and walk the aisle once an hour if possible, also do some exercises to keep your body limber and your joints from aching.

Drinking more water than usual is a good idea, to prevent dehydration.

Bring a DVD player and watch movies. Read a book. Listen to music on your Ipod. Play cards if you are traveling with someone. Sleep. Eat. Do crossword puzzles.
