Tonight I received a facebook reply from someone I had done something wrong to ten years ago. His letter included the phrase "I accept your apology with reservation."

I'm not really sure what this means?

Apology Accepted Meaning

It's tacky. They want two "paydays" and shouldn't have them. I think I'd just ignore the person and write them off as a lost cause; unless, of course, you need them in your life, in which case just accept it as an apology but be aware they plan to extract more vengeance from you in the future.

It means that he has not accepted your apology by heart. and feelings for you not changed.

It means 'I acknowledge that you apologized, but I'm still feeling resentful and I'd like you to grovel a bit."
More or less.
