You are going to have to break down and use a few Chemicals. If they are under 12 wks old you can't use chemicals. You need to change their bedding and box. get new. don't put on floor.(too close to most fleas.) You need to treat the whole house. not just kittens! First use a shampoo with orange or citrus extract. Soap up kitten and keep it sudsy for 10 min. minimum. this will suffocate the fleas. and the orange will keep them away for a short time. you Must get rid of the fleas in your home or the kittens will be reinfested within a day and they can litteraly be sucked dry and DIE!!!! try to find the stuff that has marigold extract in it(or pennyroyal) . Sorry i dont know the name. other wise you need to use some thing from the vet on your house to kill the fleas. I would use the stuff from you local farm store they use on poulty(powder) . You powder it on your floor and furniture then vaccuum up the dead fleas an hour later. no harm to you or the kittens . the stuff is the gentlest and least caustic (compared to the stuff they use on adult dogs and cats) out there. good luck! DON'T use rubbing alcohol. my vet says if injested(swallowed) by an animal, it will kill their digestive track ! kittens have a very delicate system!

You are going to have to use some chemical on them or they could possible become anemic and die. If natural things worked...there would not be all these flea products on the market as no one would need them. You can use it on them until the fleas are all dead, and if you do not let them outdoors they should not become infested again. After you get the fleas under control you can then just use a flea comb on them for any stray fleas that get into the house or that you may carry in on you. Also, bathing them too much is going to dry out their skin causing them to lose natural oils and can make their skin rashy and irratated. Get something like Advantage of Frontline as these are the most effective.

You're strongly against using chemicals - but you put vinegar on the cats? Where is the sense in this exactly? Vinegar does not kill fleas and personally, I would not want this stuff on my skin.

Perhaps you're against chemicals because of the horror stories you've heard? Well don't worry, because all these stories are about pet store flea treatments, which can indeed be dangerous - and don't work. Pet stores aren't licensed to sell the proper chemicals for flea treatment - anything you find in store is just going to be a basic pesticide that you can't expect to work.

You're starting to discover that home remedies don't work. Fleas are tough - you NEED chemicals or you won't be able to get rid of them! Fleas are dangerous to young kittens - they can literally get all their blood, and the kittens can die from anaemia. So I suggest you get a proper, safe treatment asap from a vet.

If the kittens are under 8 weeks of age, get Frontline spray from your vet. This can be used on kittens from 2 days of age. It's safe and it works, it stays on the skin only. Go now, do not let your kittens continue to suffer because of YOUR beliefs - just help them. And don't put vinegar on them!!

I'd go ahead and get some Advantage from a vet. The vet can calculate the dosage for a kitten under eight weeks old, based on its weight and size.

Advantage works well and it stays on the skin surface rather than getting into the cat's system. Unfortunately, herbal remedies do not work against fleas, and fleas can seriously harm kittens, even causing anemia and heart failure.

Get a white or light colored towel, some rubbing alcohol, a spray bottle and a good flea comb.

Hold the cat in one hand and comb them with the other. After you run the comb thru their fur, put it on the towel and then spray it - the comb and fleas - with the rubbing alcohol. You can either wipe off the alcohol with the towel or put it thru their fur again. It wont hurt the cats and it will kill the fleas in a matter of seconds. Ive use this method for years and actually got rid of fleas on summer doing this alone on all my animals. You will have to do this numerous times a day. Also spray their bedding and carpeting with the alcohol.

touch your veterinarian and see what he recommends. He might propose which you tub them in a trouble-free kitten shampoo and %. off the fleas whilst the kittens are moist and the fleas are much less complicated to work out, yet you will nonetheless ought to handle the environmental subject. Your vet will probably recommend something to apply for the ambience. you do not % to apply any flea products on your kittens without them being categorized for use in kittens that youthful or you need to wind up doing greater injury than good. in case you probably did not use a month-to-month preventative on your different cats and canines, then that is probably that throughout addition they have fleas given which you have them in the ambience so which you need to talk on your vet approximately something to maintain fleas off of them to boot.

If they are over 6 weeks of age then you need to get them a vet approved flea product(Advantage, Frontline). It's obvious that your "home remedy" isn't helping and your cats are suffering. If they aren't over 6 weeks of age then your VET can help you decide how to HELP them. YOung cats can become anemic and possibly die from having an infestation of fleas, just keep that in mind when you are using your "home remedy"

Ask your vet for Capstar. It can be fairly expensive ($35 dollars a dose) but is SO worth it. You can tell the difference within minutes. I think they have to weigh 2 pounds to use it. It is a pill.
