The twelve that are in the chase? They recieve points based on their finish in the race. They get the same as any other driver. If the finish first with the most laps led 190, if some rookie first timer get a first with the most led 190.

right there is one reason the chase is such and idiotic idea. there are 43 cars most of the time that gets point not 12.
and the people that don't point this out to this person well consider your selves brainwashed by the bad guys Brian France's back yard game NA$CAR.
Do your self a favor Football and stay away until they get rid of some of these new rules and new fans that are so easily manipulated. You will just get frustrated with there grown up silliness.
nothing changes in points but the 12 that you are referring to get x amount of points to make it impossible for someone outside that group to ever catch up and pass any of them. It is all a bunch of crap. Don't get me started please. Enjoy your football.
