Because Hindu's do not know to market their religion, Then again we have nothing to market. A true Hindu is selfishly pursuing his goal of salvation. Vedantic principles are for the individual. The mass appeal is for general public at large.
Why would we want to follow when the mass which is heading un the wrong direction We blaze our own path, guided by our knowledge.

Hinus are constantly faithful to their religion. There are about 1.2 Billion Hindus all over the world. There is no concept of "conversion" and goading, coaxig, thretatening, balckmailing and probaganda techniques in Hinduism. Hence there is no dramatic increase in Hindu followers. In recent years more and more Hindus understand that their religion is more tolerant and meaningful and they resist their temptation to go to other religions in spite of a lot of incentives. So the devotees of Hindu religion start constructing Hindu Temples in nook and corner of the world ,wherever they go and in India the devotees' number in each and every temple is increasing in leaps and bounds. On 13 th and 14 th January, every year(on Makara Sankaraanthi day)3,000,000 devotees from all over the world (just in 2 days)have Darshanam of sri Ayyappa Swamy(GOD) in Kerala.Renovation of Hindu temples with modern facilities in the last 50 years were not done in the previous 1000years.!!

while i became into small, I heard that then PM Mr Desai referred to a vedic verse in the time of a foreign places visit (Europe i think of) praying for the stable of all: Sarve Bhavanthu sukhinaha - could all be satisfied Sarve santhu niraamayaah - could all be unfastened from sorrow Sarve Badraani pasyanthu - could all see in straightforward terms stable Ma kaschith dukhabaag bhaveth! - won't any get into sorrow! there is not something in Hinduism that makes it say in straightforward terms the believers in a definite religious course are blessed. It accepts all paths of religious pursuit as the two stable. 'God is one. The sensible tell it in diverse tactics' is the vedic dictum. there is area for non devotional, merely righteous (selfless) artwork based pursuit of spirituality additionally, unlike in any faith. If certainly the large tolerance and unity preached via this historical faith is concept, there could be peace in the international, each and each following his very own chosen faith with none hate for different perceptions of God and worship types.

Evey person with a sense of responsibility has regard for all religions including, Hinduism.
It is very unfortunate that in the prehistoric times, it was forged by rishis and smiritis!
Manu smiriti created the abnoxious "caste system', playing up the highest caste and depriving the low caste!
Few years ago the religious leaders played havoc retaining some of Manu smiriti items and ignnoring others. For example,Manu has prescribed cutting of calves of cows for wedding dinner, girl of 8 to be compulsorily married and widow should burn herself on her husband's pyre! But retained the "Varnashra dharma!"
Then came the age of the politicians! they not only dirtied the
political world but also pretended to act as "saviours of the religion" and "moral police"!
The original vedas declared that mankind is but one big family! "Vasdeva Kutumb"!But here they started their campaign saying Hindustan is the "rahtra " of HIndus ("jati")
only!In its wake came Gujarat carnage!
Early identification of the villain is first step towards bringing about reforms for good.

The reason is Hindus are very tolerant and calm. Its also because of the politicians.

Take this, its true > Some politicians (TamilNadu CM for example) call themselves atheists, but go to Iftar party to get the votes of Muslims. If Allah is true, why not Ram?

But we still vote for the very same politicians and they down play us.

The world isn't.

But America is. Every country which has a dominant religious group thinks theirs is naturally superior. Which is why here the majority of questions are Christian related, whereas on Yahoo Answers India you'll see Hinduism much more prominent.

The World is NOT doing so.
It is the Hindu pseudo-secularist category which strives hard to paint hinduism & hindus with a black paint. It seems to be their self-destroying fetish.

Listen carefuly guys and think about it practialy. Initialy, spirituality was the way to god, and religions developed to maintain records on how to reach god and how to meditate etc and wut is the best way to live life in order to have maximum results when meditating. However, over the course of thousands of years, most religions simply changed, since their records kept on changing by human beings. So the original intent of reaching god (meditation) got fogged, while other forms of control/anthropromorphic gods/kings etc were brought to existence by human beings. I duno if thats true, but i have heard that somewhere.

May be,because it hasn't UP GRADED its old rituals and ways,
haven't MODERNISED for the New Age generation for this century & up,(for example)new movies and actors are watched, enjoyed, and praised more than old movies and actors,
WHY,because they send messages,/or acting or songs, which is
more attractive and appreciated by the new age people, even
though the messages, acting, and songs remains the same in its CONTEXT (love, family, society, thriller, good and evil, sad and happy, patriotism, etc;)
BUT VIA ADOPTING new and advance TECHNIQUES !
and this goes for a few OTHER religions also!
