I am dating a guy and he is Jehovah Witness and I am not. But we are in love and he hasnt said anything about me not being one. I was just wondering if a Jehovah Witness can marry someone who isnt? And if we do, does he get in trouble at Kingdom Hall? HELP!!

The Scriptures clearly instruct a true worshipper to marry only another true worshipper. However, the Scriptures do not teach that there is any particular "punishment" for a Christian (or formerly, a Jew) who disobeys that counsel.

(Exodus 23:32) You are not to conclude a [marriage or other] covenant with them or their gods.

(Deuteronomy 7:3) And you must form no marriage alliance with [unbelievers]. Your daughter you must not give to his son, and his daughter you must not take for your son.

(1 Corinthians 7:39) She is free to be married to whom she wants, only in the Lord.

(Nehemiah 13:25) You should not give your daughters to [the unbeliever's] sons, and you should not accept any of their daughters for your sons or yourselves.

(2 Corinthians 6:14) Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers.

The Scriptures also warn against elevating human desires above godly teachings.

(2 Thessalonians 2:1-3) We request of you not to be quickly shaken from your reason... Let no one seduce you in any manner

(Romans 16:17-18) Keep your eye on those who cause ... stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them. ...by smooth talk and complimentary speech they seduce the hearts of guileless ones.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Well first off, humans have free will. He can marry if he wants, regardless of spiritual beliefs. I personally am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Chances are if he is dating you, then he isn't an active Witness. The Bible does have that old adage, Marry only in the Lord. It doesn't mean a relationship CAN'T work between 2 faiths, it just means it can be harder.

You need to talk with him about how commited he is to his beliefs, and then see where you stand with him and with his beliefs.

I will tell you that as Christians, we don't agree with sex before marraige.

If he is a baptized Witness, the two of you shouldn't be dating. If you two are being intimate, he could be disfellowshipped from the congregation ("kicked out").
If he's an unbaptized kid (teenager), then he should talk to his parents and the Elders.

We're not a cult but we listen to the Bible when it says to "marry only in the Lord"... we only marry people who share our beliefs and we don't date only for fun. We hang out with people of both genders but we protect our emotions and temptations and avoid being alone- one on one- with the opposite sex.

Read 1 corinthians 7:39, and I agree the he should go to the elders, and you can go to them too.

If you continue to date him, there will come a time when he has to choose between you and his religion. If he chooses you, there is a strong possibility that he will lose not only his religion, but his friends and family. You need to decide how you feel. Then you need to seriously sit down and talk with him. You should not become a JW just because he is. You are definitely in a situation I would not like to be in. Good luck!!
