Yeah, if it's loss would mean a significant loss of income or ability to have a career. However, those sorts of things are insured, generally, by a group like the Lloyd's of London, which is a bit of odd business, actually, sort of like strange gambling for the very rich. Needless to say, it isn't the sort of thing you can go to your State Farm agent's office to take care of.

To make a good profit, companies will insure the oddest things so don't be afraid to shop around for insurance and don't be embarrassed to say what you want to insure. Whether you want to insure a body part, alien protection or anything else, always keep in mind that you'll find what you are looking for if you look hard enough.

Lloyds of London is the insurance company that covers the stars body parts. Betty Grable was famous for her legs. She was an actress/pinup girl back in World War I or II. She had her legs insured for a million dollars.

Usually its because whatever body part they've insured has a lot to do with their income. Like Tina Turner insuring her legs because they are an integral part of her image, which translates into a big part of her money making ability as a star.

Betty Grable used to have her gams insured for a million bucks. Mary Hart still does - but Grable's insurance was back in the 1950s when a million bucks was actually *worth* something. Fred Astaire only had $750,000 worth of insurance on his.

The policy was underwritten by the folks at Lloyds of London. Mostly, Lloyds underwrites shipping, but they will write a policy on almost anything, provided that there's no moral hazard involved.

In most states, there are insurance agents who specialize in risks not underwritten by any company in the state. They need a special license to sell those policies. If your insurance agent can't refer you to one, contact your state's Commissioner of Insurance.

the concept is, if something happens to say, angelina jolie's lips, they will pay her 1.8billion dollars or some stupid ****. Pretty much the same way you would get a possesion insured, i dont know how creditable the insurance copanies that do this are though.

Lloyds of London writes policies like that.

For example surgeons and pianists can insure their hands.

Most standard life insurance policies will pay out if you lost say two hands or two feet or lost sight in both eyes.

They will pay half if you lose one hand or one foot.
