A) HIP HOP HEAD- has the highest level of knowledge regarding the History, Culture, Style, Artists (past and present), Hip Hop terminology, Knows how to structure rap verses, Can freestyle at any given notice, owns all or most of the tier 1 albums from the greatest MCs, is familiar with complete ALBUMS. pretty much an expert on the topic, very avid. To u, HIP HOP is not a "hobbie", it's a lifestyle.
B) BIG FAN OF HIP HOP- Has a good amount of knowledge, but admits to not knowing everything about Hip Hop, VERY Eager to learn more.
C) SELECTIVE HIP HOP FAN- Has a small amount of Hip Hop knowledge. May own a few albums, but is really only a fan of a few select favorite artists, but doesn't really care about the Hip Hop culture as a whole.
D) FAKE HIP HOP FAN - will bump mainstream hits as they come out. Doesn't know who Rakim or KRS-1 is and doesn't care. May refer to Rakim as an "It" (lol). May pretend to be a fan to impress friends, but really knows nothing about Hip Hop

By the way, these criteria is not written in stone. This is just how I pretty much group the type of fans. Of course you don't really have to OWN all of the greatest Hip Hop albums. You may not have gotten around to buying them just yet... LOL. But you definitely have the "knowledge" or is in the process of getting the knowledge. And age has NOTHING to do with anything. Most of the heads on here know WAY more than I do about Hip Hop (you know who you are) and let's just say I'm not no spring chicken :)

Calm down Rashida. It's just for fun. I clearly said above this is NOT written in stone. And quite honestly, I wanted to add more details for each category and possibly another category but I ran out of characters and was too tired yesteray to keep adding details (it's long enough as it is!). Again, this is just how *I* group it and you don't have to meet ALL criteria to be a considered a true head, you might just have the passion, but I think most people who've answered gets the jest of it.
