well from Buena Park if you go the Buena park metrolink station
you could take a metrolink train to Union station
and hold on to your metrolink ticket,(as its vaild for the subway) then take the Red Line (subway) to Hollywood
or you could take the metro 460 bus (for $2.75 +1.25 (I suggested a day pass for $5.00)
to 7th and Figueroa then the Red Line to Hollywood
for china town again Metrolink to Union station
then Gold line for 1 stop
(or the 460 to Broadway /6th (which is the toy distict0
and line 45 to china town
now if you are in Los Angeles on a weekend you could
take the Dash DD bus directly from
Chinatown to little Tokyo
if you are in on weekend you will have to take the B dash bus to 1st and Grand then transfer to the A bus to Little tokyo

I know the Metro line goes straight into LA, but it's a drive from Buena Park (maybe 20 minutes?). If you can get to the Metro, Hollywood is just a jump, skip, and bus away from downtown.

Same with China Town and little Tokyo. There pretty close, so a taxi shouldn't be that expensive. Again, find the train (Metro, in my opinion, is cheaper and faster than a taxi or bus) and jump aboard.

I know you don't want to hear this, but it's good advice: rent a car. L.A. was made for cars, and trying to get around L.A. without a car is like trying to swim to Catalina: it might be possible but it's not worth the effort.

(And if you're walking around the east side of downtown, be careful that you don't stray into the Skid Row area. It has the highest violent crime rate of any area in Los Angeles.)

Pasadena is an l. a. suburb. interior the previous, housing in that section became extra costly than lots of the different surrounding factors, yet i'm unsure why, or if this remains the case presently.
