"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

Your question is asked with great regularity -- and erroneously! Catholics ARE Christians, the original Christians. The religious groups to which you are referring as "Christians" are actually Protestant Christians, members of Christian sects who have followed "prophets" who claimed to have answers in conflict with Roman Catholicism -- Martin Luther was the first, but all Protestant sects were founded by persons who believed that they were receiving revelations relating to Christianity which were more true than what was current dogma. The Anglican Church (Church of England) was created when Henry VIII defied the Pope by divorcing Catherine of Aragon in order to marry Anne Boleyn. Greek and Russian Orthodox Catholics are also Christians. A Christian is anyone who believes in Christ!

Catholics-
Changed the sabbath to Sunday way back in the day. They came up purgatory and the praying for the dead and using handkerchiefs, medallions and rosaries as a form of prayer. They locked the bible up so that normal people could not read it, They have their pope, who serves some purpose. They pray to dead humans such as saints and to mary. They ask their pastor for forgiveness and confess to him. You have to be a member of the catholic church to take communion with them. Have to be baptized a catholic.
Christians:
(This is for most branches) They pray to Jesus and ask forgiveness, it is not a Must to be baptized at all. It is a choice. They believe that only Jesus can forgive sins. The rules are very simple, Come to Jesus and be saved.

Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholic. Catholics were the first Christians, and some Christians broke away from the Catholic Church in the Protestant Reformation in the 1500's. There are more than 35,000 Protestant denominations and independent Protestant churches. Half of all Christians in the world are Catholics and 1 in 4 Christians in the US are Catholics.

Bible believing Christians are trusting in Jesus to save them from their sins.

The authority to the Bible believing Christian is the Bible.

Roman Catholics are trusting the Roman Catholic Church to tell them how to earn their salvation but attending various church ceremonies.

The authority to the Catholic is the Pope and the RCC.
