I am not christian however i am not going to soils its name either i was thinking for a while and i personally believe if there was a god and he is not showing himself to us for whatever reason therefore he must wish for us to seek him. while many of the people just simply say "hey hes real" while some christian actively seek him and want to know the truth not to just stand idoly by and just accept whatever was told to you. which way do you think is the real way of christianity?

When I first read your question the immediate answer that came to me was, 'both'.

A) Jesus presents two parables of how the truth of God is revealed to people:

1) "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
(Matthew 13:44)

2) "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
(Matthew 13:45)

In one, the person finds what he was not looking for, in the other he finds what he had been searching for. As you say, some people search for God and his truth, to others, God reveals his truth even though they were not looking for it. Both require action on the part of the finder -- the realization that nothing else is worth holding on to and giving it all up to attain the one thing of worth.

However, as I read over your question, I suspect you are asking something different. It sounds more like you are asking if God accepts "blind faith" or the faith from knowledge. And to that I have to say, faith from knowledge.

B) Contrary to what Atheists would have everyone believe, God does NOT want followers of "dumb sheep." Rather, the Bible is FULL of directives teaching that we should learn, study, test, reason, prove, confirm, etc..., the truth of God and his salvation.

Just do a Bible word-study on any of those words (knowledge, understanding, etc.) and you will see just how much God wants us to NOT be dumb, blind followers.

I've quoted the following verse so many times to the Atheists on this forum I almost type it in my sleep:
"Prove all things; keep that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

You are right--both ways.
He lets us go through the toughest times, so we will seek His face, and KNOW when we look back--that he was there ALL the TIME!

He also gives us the WANT to please Him, because we KNOW the blessings He bestows upon us, when we obey.

All we are called to do is tell everyone how good God is.

Don is right, too (except I say 'Him')
You can feel God's love so easily.
You can feel like someone is praying JUST FOR YOU and God lifts you up out of your 'self' and lets you feel so much love , that WORDS COULD NEVER describe.

Striker is so right.
My only fear to offend would be God--although I am not perfect--I strive to do right.

Knowing God personally, allows Christians (people who believe in Christ) the power of prayer--
for non-believers and others who are at the bottom in their life.

GOD is ONE look up.
He hears you, wherever you are.
There is no pit deep enough that His arm can't reach down and pull you out!!!! EVER!!!

Because you are not a christian, perhaps you will hear the Words. John 1:17, John 3:14, John 5:37, John 6:32, John 10:8, and Revelation 13:10-18 and understand.

We need to continue seeking. To simply fill a pew every Sunday morning, but not seek him is not Christianity. It is merely religion.

II Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." They were his people, but they were not seeking him and things were not going well.

Today very few Christians walk in the power of the spirit. Jesus commissioned us to heal the sick, give sight to the blind and raise the dead. There isn't much of that going on today. I know it can be done because I had a broken arm healed about a year ago. But it isn't being done because Christians are not seeking him. They don't seek him because they think they have it all figured out.

Yes, God will hide His face from those who do not wish to know Him. This was the reason Jesus gave for His speaking in parables and not statements.

However, the opposite is true as well. If you WISH to know Him personally, He will reveal Himself in ways you can never imagine. This then becomes very personal, hence why most people can only respond with "Hey, He's real." and nothing more.

I have written two studies on both ends of this spectrum. From the point of view of those who care not to seek...

and those who do seek...

So it really comes down to what you want. Eternal life, or a self-justified present. The choice is up to the individual, but the price had already been paid on the cross. It is free to receive if desired.

technological knowledge keeps to boom and there is not any evidence for some element supernatural. even if there's a author God there is not any purpose to imagine that he ought to go with or want our worship or ought to even care if we understand his existence. there is not any longer any purpose to imagine he ought to bypass judgement on. historic persons said persons die from lightning, floods, tornadoes, and so on., and assumed this change into God judging. we've an understanding of the technologies contained in the again of those concerns. inspite of the very incontrovertible truth that technologies has now no longer defined each and every ingredient yet, it elements a well-known photo of how the completed element from the large Bang until eventually eventually now has exceeded off. the finest ingredient it really is needed is power, and that has regularly consistently existed. It in simple terms has. it truly is a lot a lot less complicated to understand ways smart power ought to have existed for eternity than an endless clever entity.

God does show herself.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

It puzzles me the way many people think "religious" is synonymous with "Christian."

You give the best answer to Your own question, Andy. God hides because he wants us to seek him. Kabbalah says the same thing.

Sometimes it is like a lightning bolt (like St Paul) At other times, more quiet. God is not so easy to put in a box. You have people who are faithful even though they have never seen a miracle. Then again, you have events like the one in Medjugorje or Fatima, or Rwanda.
