Ethics is a system of what you believe is right and wrong. Many people base their ethics or morality on their religion. But ethics can also exist outside of a religion.

Ethics is similar, but not directly related. usually a result of religion. Ethics can be almost the same across some religions. For instance, both Muslims and Jews do not eat pork. Any many Muslims, Christians, and Jews have similar ideas of morality (ethics), yet they certainly don't have the same religion. Hope this helps. :-)

No, I don't believe there is a direct relationship. All religions are guilty of atrocities, so morality or ethics must come from the individual, not the religion.

I would say that religion can provide a system of ethics, but ethics can exist independent of religion.

Not necessarily. ' How would you like it to happen to you?' is a pretty good starting point for any ethics/morality. Notice how God doesnt need to come into this , it's more a way of ensuring that we all 'just get along'.

No. Especially if you look in the old Testaments God is cruel and unusual, advocating murder of children and homosexuals, two things that are certainly not ethical.
