Two day ago I went to the hospital and the doctor asked me to take a regular blood test due to an stomach pain I have right now and when I saw the needle I closed my eyes, but when I opened them again, I saw a red spot in the finger of the girl who took my blood test. Now I’m really scared again because I think it was blood. I got so scared that I while I was waiting for the results; I had to ask her if it was blood but she said it was only ink from a red marker. I didn’t see the red spot again because she was wearing gloves but she wasn’t wearing them when she took my blood. This idea I have is probably a bit sick but I believe that the girl could have used her blood to infect me with HIV. Is this possible? Can somebody do something like that? Should I take another blood test in three months time? Or am I just being Paranoid???

One, she should have been wearing gloves when she took the blood. Two, it could have been your blood on her finger. Three, unless she is HIV positive you can't mysteriously get it, and why on earth would she intentionally do that. If she did have HIV though, she would have had to cut herself and pretty much smear her blood into an open wound you might have had (which you would have probably noticed even if you eyes were closed). I think you are being a little paranoid, but I really cant blame you hehe. If it makes you feel better and calmer, why not do another one in three months, just dont let it rule your life for the next while

It was probably your blood. I've gotten someone's blood on my finger during a draw before. (That's why I wear gloves!) Some people get kind of freaked about seeing their own blood, so she may have told you it was ink even if it wasn't, just so you wouldn't be upset. I know that sounds weird, but I've seen people faint over seeing a drop of their own blood.

Or, maybe she labels her tubes with a red sharpie, and got some on her finger. I use blue, so I get blue spots all the time.

Paranoid. People just don't do that on purpose to complete strangers.
