I've read somewhere before that you can use apple cider vinegar in the place of alot of wines. I actually tried a recipe one time that called for wine and I didn't have any, so I tried that because it was recommended in the place of it and you couldn't tell the difference at all!

What's the problem.... When cooking with an alcohloic beverage, the heat removes the alcohol and all that remains is the flavor of the wine, brandy etc.

try apple juice, water, stock (i.e. chicken, veggie, beef) in place of alcohol. See also chart attached. It has all kinds of substitutions.
