It shows how effective donations to the right campaign have been. The Clinton's worked hard for the Chinese money so I guess the liberal media will continue to support them. When the currency of this country becomes worthless and the imports stop how will life go on?? We keep plunging into debt as the politicians ignore their obligations and stuff their pockets with payoffs. I really am concerned that my grandchildren will have any future since the coming devaluation of our currency will make imports too expensive and our money will not be any good outside of our borders.

The biggest reason I think is American Greed.
Unions demand outrageous wages for their workers so the companies outsource to China or other countries that have cheap labor. This keeps the price of the products down but still allows the companies to show a profit for the stockholders. Products built or made in the USA cost more and most common folks always buy cheaper items so they can have more.

I think it's a wonderful thing that China is finally beginning to see the logic of capitalism, it means there is a whole new nation of consumers who will become new customers for the businesses whose stock you & I both own in our retirement plans, so they will keep growing, and we will have a comfortable retirement.

I beg to differ with you that it's "virtually impossible" though, unless you are just unwilling to shop anywhere outside of a discount store!

Most people are cheap - they want to pay as little as possible. And they don't appreciate quality. That is why they buy junk at Wal Mart rather than good stuff that costs twice as much elsewhere.

What bike sells better do you think, cheap o china brand, or Cannondale made in the USA, $1000 and up.

Oh you just noticed? I make it a habit not to buy anything not made in the USA...maybe that's why my house is empty, lol. That was a joke, but I do only buy within USA....Its sad though, with all the recalls going on from food and toys, ugh.

For the comment below...it's not a good thing that we are making china rich! They sell their products here, and get our (not mine!) money...their pockets get fatter while our food and toys, etc are constantly on recall, wow what a deal!

I don't think we should be so dependent on other countries. I had always thought China to be a minor enemy of the US, and with us buying and using so many products from China they have a power over us.

Because China has millions of workers willing to work 15 hours a day for less than 100$ a month.

Doesn't it make you think about big business loyalty to the U.S. to keep everyone employed? If the as#####holes can find a workforce that will make a product cheaper! Then that's where they go! Forgetting about all the guy's that died in the Korean war fighting the Chinese that swept down to the 38th parallel before we stopped them and drove them back again! There's no loyalty to your country in multinational business, is there? Have a great day.

Back in the early nineties there was a group of people who believed the U.N. had designs on America. They seem to have been right, most manufacturing jobs are offshore, clothes are foriegn, cars made in America are japanese. Americans are fat and debt ridden. We sit on the couch and say how bad things are.-------The tree of liberty must be fed from the blood of tyrants is now a handy phrase. We have become a nation of well fed house slaves.

Because China always wants to make a lot of things while the US only cares for certain people.
