I stress a ninety 8 1500 and it must have the skill to very last to 2 hundred,000 miles with none massive paintings. The correct paintings should be the timing chains, and that'll fluctuate between 185-200k. except that, those trucks are made to very last 200k reachable under good care.

Check the pickup coil in the distributor. It is one of the things that heat will affect. When it is going bad, it is also affected by moisture. That has always been my experience.

could be the pickup plate, crank sensor, or catalytic convertor. i had one a couple weeks ago that would run fine until it was hot. it had a fuel injector leaking into the wiring harness and it filled the pcm with gas, ruining the pcm. whe it was hot you could smack the pcm and it would set random codes or die. see if there are any codes in it and go from there.

its possible the fuel pump may be going out on it ,or the pump relay may be going bad, this happens to those once in a while, the only true way to find out if this the relay is to replace it,mine done this and that's what happened to it,that's one of the most common causes for what its doing, good luck with it.
