I'm hoping your question was just poorly worded- perhaps what you meant is how can you enjoy a few drinks without going too far and getting drunk?

At my wedding, I had one drink during the cocktail hour and one drink with dinner. After that I had water or soda. It was just enough to give me a tiny buzz (not that I wasn't already buzzing anyway) but it didn't last long at all.

No, I did not need or want to get drunk to enjoy my wedding. I enjoy a few drinks on occasion, and I feared that in the excitement of the day I would go too far- so I set a limit for myself ahead of time. Two drinks over five hours, with dinner and hors d'oeuvres- perfect amount, for me.

Anyone who gets drunk at their own wedding is a thoughtless, imature, irresponsible pig. This is a wonderful event and you should be happy and mingling with guests and enjoying your special day. If people keep giving you booze, take a small sip and then leave it on a table and move on! If you drink, your photos will look repulsive and they cost loads of $$$. If you drink, you may say something to offend your new spouse or your new family. If you drink, you may not be able to perform as well as you think later on in the night (nudge, nudge, wink, wink,,it's TRUE. Drink makes you THINK you're a stud but you're probably a dud!) If you drink, the next morning you'll have a hangover and will be ill to start your honeymoon. Good base for early arguments with your beloved! Over-indulgence of booze has caused many a wedding-night breakup so be a grownup and just revel in the joy of being in the spotlight. As for drunken brides, well, there are no words!

Same way you would have fun on any other day. You are basically at a big *** party just for you. Plus, most people find the concept of just marrying the love of their life pretty fun and exciting in and of itself.

If the only way you know to have fun is to get tossed you are probably an alcoholic and you need counseling way more than a wedding ring at the moment.

The best way for you to enjoy your wedding day it to come to terms now with the idea that something will probably not go exactly the way you planned, but that's ok, it will work itself out, it always does. Other than that try and surround yourself with your friends and the people you love. Don't forget to take some time for yourself, and the excitement will come naturally.

Congrats on the big day! You'll be so excited and hyped up that you won't need to drink. You probably should drink water anyway... you'll be on the go all day and into the evening, if you have a reception. Make sure you eat that day, too.

If you have to get drunk to have fun, you may have a drinking problem.
