Always in a salon. The Lilt perms from Wal-Mart have to be demon possessed......lol. Let me give you a little advice before you go. Know your hair stylist. A perm is just what the word implies-permanent. Or at least until the hair grows out. Also if it is body and wave or large curls you want, use the larger curlers for sure. There is nothing uglier than a grown out perm that had tight curls from little curlers. You've seen the look.....about three inches of straight hair and the rest is an old curly perm............UGH! You don't need small curlers to get a good tight, bouncy perm. If you want more curl after the perm you can always use smaller curlers to get that effect, only your not stuck with it.

I would let a shop do it. They would probably be more apt to get it the way you want it.

Have a professional do it. It may be more expensive but it'll deffinitely be worth it.
