I've been on 8 cruises with 6 different cruise lines.
Holland America is my favorite. I Cruised with them twice.
Their food, service, and entertainment is FIVE STAR all the way. I like being spoiled. They have so many activities available there aren't enough hours in the day to do all I want to. The midnight buffet is to die for.

I have been on RCL and Carnival ( a total of 6 cruises in 18 months) and I wouldn't go back on RCL if it was free, ok maybe free...lol. I love Carnival. I think the prices are great and the service wonderful. I have found the food consistently tasty, whether it was a 4 day to the Bahamas or and 8 day Mexican Riviera. The rooms are larger and better appointed on the Carnival ships I have been on. I have sailed out of 5 different port with Carnival and have never had an issues. One trip I injured myself at the airport and was helped fantastically by the staff on the ship during embarkation.I'm sure you will make your own judgments and really, a vacation is what you make it. So have fun which ever you choose

Royal Caribbean is my favorite. They aren't too overpriced, like some cruiselines, but they still offer a very luxurious (while still being fun) cruising experience. Their boats and staff really seem to capture the essence of what a good vacation is and they try their hardest for the guests.

Royal Caribbean. The ships are nice, and well maintained. The service is great, the employees seem to care about their job and it shows in how they treat you. Also the food is really good and they have an abundance in onboard activities, and good ports of calls. Have cruised carnival and it wasn't on the same level.

i've got sailed on Carnival as quickly as, Princess as quickly as, and Royal Caribbean 4 circumstances. My widespread has been Royal, extraordinarily the Jewel and Serenade (they are sister ships, with various glassed-in factors from which to verify the sea). they seem to have struck the nicely suited stability between high quality and value. The decor on the Carnival Ecstasy became into quite loud, and that i hated the ambience in the formal eating room; it became into like a circus. the commonplace public areas on the Caribbean Princess looked crowded; the theatre became into way too small for the form of persons on the deliver (I heard that an added passenger deck have been extra in the time of shape, however the commonplace public areas weren't enlarged to account for it), and that i in my opinion did not like their "every time eating" - which i became into compelled to take by using fact they decrease the form of persons who could have classic eating. I felt the eating room provider became into not as intense by using fact the waiters are constantly working to get diverse courses for various tables somewhat than maximum appropriate all their tables in the path of the comparable courses on the comparable time. The Thermal Suite (an excellent place to take a seat back became into placed below the basketball courtroom!
