My friend is 13 and about 5,5. She weighs about 7,5 but she looks so skinny and frale. She doesn't eat much and me and my friends hardly ever see her eat. She tells us she eats loadss at home but he dad has grounded her for not eating her dinner at school so if she ate alot at home then why would her dad be worrying about it? Also she often talks about her weight and obsesses over it. Alot of people comment on how thin she is and i think she likes the attention and i'm scared this will encourage her to loose more weight. Is she anorexic?

Is she constantly counting calories?
She does sound like she has some sort of eating disorder.
Being that thin at that height is very unhealthy.
Did she suddenly lose weight?
Remind her how good she looked before she did; so she doesn't continue.

She may be just naturally thin at her age. 7 1/2 isn't too bad for a 13 year old. I used to be a body builder and I had to be under 52kilos for the Lightweight section. I am 5'5" and I was age 36 at the time! I certainly didn't look frail.
You could try commenting on pictures of more curvy movie stars/models in magazines and say how great they look. Also you could mention how boys seem to like girls with feminine figures like J-Lo. Don't make a big thing of it, though or she may think you are trying to get at her!

im 5'6 and im 130 pounds, sum ppl rly dont eat that much bcuz they just fill up fast but if she's obsessing over it, ppl talk about it, and her dad has grounded her then keep a VERY close eye on her.try having an eating contest with her or sumthing
and usually this is the time when girls are supposed to get curves on themselves so she rly mite be.unless she ahsnt hit puberty yet, if she hasnt, then try and keep a close eye on her but for now she should be ok
but b4 i forget, did she eat more before and less now??
if she's obessing over her weight then u should tell her the truth that if u eat less then u did before then ur metabolism slows down making u burn less calories, thought u should know that

it sounds like she may be...confronting her may cause her to pull away, and telling her parents may not be the best option...at least right now...talk to her about it, but do it in a loving way that isnt harsh or may put her on the defensive. tell her that uve noticed that she is concerned about her weight even tho she is gorgeous, and ask if theres anything u can do to help her out. try to be understanding and let her talk when she wants to, try not to interrupt her...u may be the frist to want to talk to her and help her...so she may be hesitant, dont push her! she may not want to talk about it at all right now, so give her time...just be a good friend, and be willing to be there when she needs u. ive had a friend who was anorexic and she hid it very well, but if shes 13 she may just be skinny from puberty...give it a little time before u talk to her, but if she gets worse go for it...its a hard situation, go with ur gut feeling. good luck!

Well, I'm not going to say YES she is... But try hanging out with her for a whole day and see if she eats... if not.. confront her about it... I could see why she would want to be skinny... But too skinny is gross... guys dont like it, it wont make you feel physically good, and even models have to be over a certain weight limit. Its all a mental thing. Try having a talk with her.
Good luck!

Possibly, but she should talk to a doctor or the school counselor to figure out the root of her problems if there are any, as well as possible solutions. You can go to the counselor and tell her you are concerned about a friend and ask what to do or she may tell you that the friend will need to talk to her.

I am glad to hear at least some people are concerned. She probably is and it is a very difficult disease to treat. She is trying to get some control in her life and you can't make her eat unless you force feed her. She may have been abused in the past. Alot of girls do this to make themselves unattractive and to regain some control in their life.

its hard to make a full judgement and give a full answer but just by what you have said you might have reason for concern. it sounds like a possibility but at the same time you never know the full story so don't jump to conclusions.
