Isn't "amnesty" already taking place every day in maternity wards across the country?

No, it's not amnesty, it's birthright citizenship. It's an outdated notion that most countries have already abolished. It's time we considered the same.

No it is not Amnesty... It's original intent was to protect the rights of former slaves after the civil war.

The fact that it gives anyone automatic citizenship only protects that one person. The family of that person does not recieve any amnesty.... if deported usually that child is sent back with the parents... When that child is old enough to support it's self then it can come back due to the fact it is a legal citizen.

Read the Congressional Globe of the 39th Congress and it becomes very clear that the Senate expressly excluded children born to aliens from the citizenship clause.

I'll find a link...

Not if you read it right. Read the first paragraph understand the words. We just have been interpreting it so long and most people never taken the time to read it.
Tell a lie long enough it becomes quasi fact.

Not if you know it's real intent. It wasn't written for that purpose and they KNOW that. I read a funny church sign today.....if it was literally eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth....we'd all be walking around blind and toothless.
