I'm running a little late and a little short on money for Samhain this year. I was wondering if anybody could give me some ideas for ritual this year or any good websites I could check out. I've only ever done Samhain once before.

I have a small sapce as I live at my parents house and they will only allow me to do ritual in the shed out back. It will be my sister and I.

Welcome to the world of Teendom lol. I am more than short on cash this year as well. My night will consist of a lot of reminicing with my ancestors. Candle are a good idea, personally I don't light many because i feel darkness is better suited. As far as offering I planned on warm cider or maybe spiced tea, and nuts or dead bread. All of these things are fairly cheap and easy to make. If you go with dead bread make it the day before it's kind of time consuming but so worth it. But above all keep it simple and fun, this is a day of celebration not saddness. By the way kudos to you for including your sister, it will be something she will cherish for the rest of her life.

The supper is called a dumb supper. All the props are fun but not necessary for ritual. I just had my Samhain ritual last night and we lit candles for the dead. Had a scrying mirror set up for those that wanted it and lit pieces of paper with things we wished to be repaired in the new year. The good thing about waiting this late in the year is that all the stores are already clearing out their Halloween stuff and you can get some deals. I picked up a besom at Michaels that way.
Here is the dumb supper performed in Salem .....

A banquet of sumptuous cuisine where the only sound heard is music chosen in memory of the departed. Bring photos and mementos to summon the souls of your loved ones on the other side as you partake in the most solemn of all the ceremonies of Witchcraft. The Dumb Supper is an ancient tradition where the dead attend the living for a magical night of communion!

The evening opens with a ceremony welcoming the dead, after which attendees are guided into the sacred space where the feast is served. From this point on, no one may speak. By remaining quiet, you will open your heart and mind to those who have crossed over. In years past, guests of the Dumb Supper have felt a ghostly touch, detected a scent of perfume, heard messages, and even witnessed physical manifestations of spirit energy.

Hope that helps
Blessed Be!

I think that all three of the previous answers that you have gotten are great idea's. One of the things that you could do is just cast a basic circle and remember all of your loved ones that have past. You could do something simple like reading out loud the from a list of names. If you want to be a bit more broad then you could just address them as "my ancestors", and light a candle in remembrance. Ask for their guidance for the upcoming months. and meditate on the thoughts and memories that you have of them. You will be surprised what you will find. What ever you do it does not need to cost a lot. remember it is a celebration of the harvest a remembering of those that have past.

Why not perform a dinner (and my brain just went blank on what it's called -- backwards dinner?) where you set a place for the unknown guest?

I don't know why your parents would object to it -- do it in honor of someone in your family who you loved but is gone.

Other than that, I would suggest something simple like lighting candles so that souls can find their way back to you (or to the other side).

Keep it simple and sweet. Remember that all the hype in places like Salem, MA really is just hype and the people in charge are questionable at best.

Do what feels right to you.

Remember those who have died in the past year, or those whose death you still feel is close to you. Burn incense in their honor.

Write things that you want to get rid of on pieces of paper and burn the paper.

Tell the story of the Goddess in the Kingdom of Death:

Hope this helps.
