I have played tennis twice alone with this girl I had not seen in a while. We had a good time both times. Now, she also accepted to go with me to a concert that my friends and I were going to. She does not know any of them. Her actions sometimes tend to show an interest, but I cannot tell if we are just friends. I am not sure if asking her to a concert could be construed as fun or a date. What might she think?

I'd be willing to bet money that this is a girl who will pull out the 'F' word one of these days. 'F' meaning freinds. Usually when you can't tell it goes the wrong way. This is my experience anyway. Stick with girls that you're pretty certain she digs you and you won't go wrong.
I also believe that ANYTIME a girl and a guy do one-on-one things together(unless they're homosexual or Mother/Son or something like that) it's a date. Wether they call it one or not. Having the girl pay for half or saying were just friends adds nothing but confusion to things. One-on-one time together stirs romantic feelings automatically.
So try not to use the 'friends' word. If you get to the point where you want something more and she says no then stop seeing her(this is a rejection and should be treated as such) and focus your energy on someone who wants to return your affection.
If you want it to be a date then make it a date. Don't hide the fact that it is. Pay for her ticket. Open the door for her. Better to find out sooner rather than later if she's interested in you. The longer it takes the harder the rejection will be as you will get more attatched to her the more time you spend with her.

she most likely is thinking both.. maybe friends.. but she may be a little interested in you.. but what you need to do.. is make it neither one when you go out,.. just have fun.. and then if she wants more than friends you will hear from her...

if your friends are going too, it's a fun evening.
