Lust.? I don't think so...

Lust is not the issue, lusting for what can never belong to us is. Because none of us would do mostly anything without desire. We desire to eat, so we do. We desire sex, so we have it. We desire sleep, so we catch zzzzs.

But what if we desired someone else's truck or someone elses' wife...most of us would NOT pursue it, but think about the times when people lusted over something they couldn't have? It led to heartbreak. (do the names Scott Peterson or Chris Oxley ring a bell?)

Lust or covetousness is not bad..Please covet and lust over your wife. The book of Proverbs goes into quite specific detail of how you would. But lusting over something that can never be yours would, on a good day, just make you longingly hurt. On a bad day, you could act out and be jailed or killed or break someone's heart....

I think most religions just object to "lust" when it's taken outside the boundaries of marriage.

Lust of the flesh is only bad when it overrides God's laws. It's merely a matter of priorities. God first, then everything else.
