The sacred Aztec calendar is properly called the Eagle Bowl. The amazingly accurate calendar has been in use in various forms for more than 2,000 years.

In the mythology of the Aztecs, the first age of mankind ended with the animals devouring humans. The second age was finished by wind, the third by fire, and the fourth by water. The present fifth epoch is called Nahui-Olin (Sun of Earthquake), which began in 3113 BC and will end on December 12, 2012. It will be the last destruction of human existence on Earth.

The date coincides with “the end of history” listed on the ancient Chinese oracle-calendar, the I Ching. (Dec 12, 2012)

The Mayan calendar is divided into Seven Ages of Man. The Mayan calendar comes to an end on Sunday, December 12, 2012. Only a few people will survive the catastrophe that ensues.

So... independently we have the Aztecs, the Chinese, the Mayans, Nostrodamis all saying the same date...

What are your opinions? Coincidence or more?

Just for the record though... I place no credibility in this one way or the other. I just think it's interesting. A coworker was babbling about this today and I googled it... Since I had nothing "deeper" to ask I thought i'd run with this.

As a Christian Preacher I still go with what Jesus Ssaid," no man knoweth the day or the hour but the Father, which is in heaven.

I think it's a case of piling on. People have a nice solid date (December 21 by the way, not the 12th) so they are working hard to make everything else match. Terence McKenna's "Time Wave Zero" is supposedly extrapolated from the I-Ching, but he doesn't show his math so there's no way to determine whether he just drew a graph and matched some historical events to it.

The Mayan calendar restarts in 2012, predicting catyclysm, but remember, their own time came and went between the beginning and the end of the current cycle. There's no demonstration of the concept. The Aztecs may have shared some Meso-American traditions with the Mayans but they hardly confirm each others' cosmological theories. If mankind keeps ending, how is it that we are still around? And how were the survivors of each cycle able to transmit their notes across the next 5000 years when no physical artifacts remain? It is a common practice among "conspiracy theorists" to pack differing traditions together in the hope that some coincidence can be teased out of it.

And where did Nostradamus come from? You haven't mentioned him until now. Coincidence and LESS is my opinion. Look for some brisk book and video sales that year.

There may been some ESP working here. But I would not take it too seriously. The future is what we make out of it. You must do certain thing to get certain outcomes. An outcome is never guaranteed, positive or negative. It is up to us to solve our problems, and produce a good outcome. Maybe that date, will be the end of this age, and the birth of a new age, it is all up to us to make it happen.

IDK approximately all of the sources you're saying that point out with regards to the top of the international yet i be conscious of that Nostrodamis predicted approximately 50 dates for the top of the international...2000 being the final one and 2012 being the subsequent one. so we can't actually matter quantity that.
